The German redesign of the American classic. The HK 416 is chambered in 5.56 NATO, the HK 417 is the 7.62 NATO version. With a multitude of variants from compact carbines to designated marksman rifles, it is a very prolific rifle series. It ended up being successful enough to become the go-to rifle in the majority of NATO militaries, and some models are even used by the Russian Alpha Group.


On his animating binge, empty wanted a project suggestion, something that hasn't been done before. So together we did some research on how the Beta C-Mag works and came to the conclusion that the animations in Payday 2 and CoD:Ghosts (which coincidentally also has an HK with a C-Mag) ending with pressing the bolt release are wrong because of the drum's design with dud rounds acting as the follower of sorts which does not engage the bolt catch. So here we have it - Sydney's signature rifle, with its unique muzzle modification, the JP Enterprises Recoil Eliminator. On technically correct animations, no less.
