"Originally a small hatchback designed with mass transit in mind , the Brown-Johnson One is equally as famous for it's race-derived performance models. From left to right:
- The 1976 One OXO - Built for the tarmac rally stage but just as at home commuting to the shops , the original hot One shook up the affordable performance market when it released 6 years after the original One.
- The 1986 One Turbo - The first production Brown-Johnson model to feature a turbo , the One Turbo is unique in that it was not derived from a circuit vehicle. Using the larger 2 litre variant of the stock One's engine found in the Three wagon variant , the One Turbo could out-accelerate any supercar the world had to offer ( if it could put down its power through the diminutive front wheels).
- The 2010 One-Six Final - An extremely limited run variant of the ever-popular one , designed as a final send off before the next-generation One would enter production. A large V6 was shoehorned into the same engine bay as a One OXO , with the 4 wheel drive drivetrain being replaced with a front-wheel drive system. Mounted to a 6-speed manual gearbox and featuring no electronic nannies , the One-Six Final was an engaging if terrifying drive.
