Using transport pipe as the "pipe" the drill collects about 90% of the ore that passes the drill head.

To make something similar:
1. Create a guide using landing gears.
2. Create the "pipe" using transport pipe. (armor blocks become lodged and break the guide)
3. Add drill.
4. Experiment.
