Getting Started
Hello there you degenerate. I am here to help you achieve the last piece on your Saiko no Sutoka playthough's list. Just follow what is shown below and maybe you can hold bragging rights that will amount to nothing.

Make sure you have:
Pen and paper for notes
Some headphones (those filthy earbuds that fell off the back of that Chinese pickup truck is good enough)
And courage and guts (Once you're scared of anime girls)
So let's move then!

First of all you wanna put on paper each of the hall letters in order like this
A-
B-
C-
D-

Then you're going to mark which hall doors are closed. Once you get that door key, you're going to mark it by making a circle on the classroom number.

Another way of doing it is by leaving only the locked doors open so you know where the code numbers are but this way makes it harder on Yangire mode since you will often be chased by Saiko and run the risk of getting lost. It's useful on Easy and Normal modes but not recommended on higher difficulties.

Ok. Let's get moving on the action, shall we.
Say Hello to Darkness, your old friend
  • Ok so, the way we're going about this is by exploring the darkness feature. Having the lights on gives a little bit of security but it's spoiled on the overall experience.
[Old version video. i'll keep for those who didn't update the game yet]
    Video guide here

  • The video will give you visual data and this guide shall fill in the blanks with tips.
  • Pick the key and leave. DO NOT RUN just yet. We're trying to get our surroundings first and foremost, this is not a sprint.
  • Going by the Meeting Room first makes it faster, as it's on route to the Power Room. Getting that out of the way first is recommended. Whenever you find a key in the Meeting Room, you are still going to the Power Room.
  • Solve the puzzle but DO NOT turn the switch on. This is where the fun begins. Lights can make it easier for Saiko to spot you inside classrooms, closets, lockers and at distance. Let's deny her this advantage by staying in the murk.
  • Leave the room, and Saiko might be waiting for you just outside, so leave there ASAP and always go towards the stairs to your right. Where she is doesn't matter as Saiko will always come from the left.
  • If Saiko doesn't charge at you, wait for her by the corner. Make some noise (you need to take her for a ride.) then head up the stairs and go towards the Library. Open the door as you pass but keep going forward, take the stairs down at the end of the hall, go towards the Cafeteria and open that too. Keep going to the Computer Room and open that door next. Now you need to get rid of Saiko. Going deep through the halls might be enough. Once you hear her doing the HMMM or just sound distant, you can slow down. ALWAYS checking behind you. If you can't do it, close the game and go pay Yan Dev for some unity assets.

  • Now you have all that set up, it's time to start hunting for keys.
Useful tips, hints, strategy
  • Saiko Camps
Yes. She is a camper. Saiko will most likely patrol the main hallways instead of going to the classroom halls because she knows that you have to pass by there to reach the sides.
She will be coming and going through there and she will most likely use the centre stairs to mindcrap you. She will only use the stair corners if you are there already. Yet she might do a big turn and come by the main stairs just to get you from behind as you expect her coming by the corners.

  • Save the water tanks
This crap is useful by the end of the game, as you need to deceive Saiko to get enough time to insert the code. So don't waste them. Only use them as a last option if you need to win a chase or to lure her to reach another side.

  • Face the moe
When you obtain a key from the classroom, don't hesitate to face Saiko. You can either lure her in for a chase or just walk through to the hallway via the adjacent door. Staying still will get you killed.
  • Always, ALWAYS cross sides by the upper floor since Saiko can and WILL ambush you by the entrance lockers.
Only cross sides by the lower floor if you are 100% sure that she isn't there or she is/was chasing you there. (Listen closely if you are unsure of her location.)

  • Use lockers and corners closets
They are your friend in Yangire mode's darkness. Not like in Easy/Normal mode as Saiko can easily spot you in there.

  • Use headphones
Yes. Headphones is important. It can make the difference when hunting for keys as you can determine how far away Saiko is or if she far left or right in a hallway. When inside a locker, facing the hallway can give you some hints of her distance and place.

  • Saiko Fleece Johnson
She wants your booty and she is doing it the easy way or the hard way.
The AI is prone to take you from behind and will do anything to achieve that, so often look behind you. Besides, the AI will try to avoid you if you directly look at her. Like certain L4D's special infected for reference, Saiko will do the same. So if you look to the windows when inside a classroom, its possible that she will end up taking the long way to come, or not show up at all, expecting you to leave and go in for the kill.

  • Blood stains

Now i don't know if it actually happens but in my experience, it did many times. Saiko can hear when you walk over blood puddles.
Whether it's a coincidence or not just avoid step in them if possible.

  • Umbrella spot
This strategy i learnt from MrBlasyMSK guide. A Spot where Saiko loses you. I call it the umbrella spot.
Like the video says, when chased, just hide at this spot. Feels like its a safe zone left during development stages. Saiko will lose the chase 90% of the time, even if she is at point blank range.
Note: it only works fine when she is chasing from the B hall. It doesn't works when mirrored (D Hall). If it so happens to work for you from the right (D Hall) then you lucked out.

  • Saiko feet clip
Yes, you can see a bit of Saiko's cute feet through the stairs when she's coming. Making it useful to know when and where she is going. Always pay attention on these spots when hiding in closets under the stairs.

  • Matrix

You wish you could dodge her knife throw as if you were in the matrix but you can't. Instead, just run towards her. The knife will go over you, since it does a volley swing line.

  • It doesn't hurt if can't see

When cornered, try to turn your back ,crouch and move in reverse. Saiko's AI might (not always) do no harm to you. She might just laugh at how silly you look prompting an easy escape. Not a viable strategy but it's something to consider if cornered.

  • Exiting

Well, you got the key, she let you leave. Easy right?!
Not just yet. She will try her last ace in the hole. Do not loiter like those videos of people locked in a staring contest with her, or when she takes a while to open the door, it doesn't really go well when she just insta opens it and ends you. What you wanna do is, wait for her to open it while you stand a few feet away to see where she's stood. So when she opens it, you will be able to charge out while not running straight into her..
Now don't just try the loop on the shoe lockers. As she can and WILL cut you doing a way back. Some can do that and work but it's a 50/50 chance. If you want a 100% certain escape, bring her to the main stairs and loop her from there. So you can be sure of doing something right for once.
Closing the guide
That's it for now. Might do some edits and adds on the go. I hope we have helped you Saiko simps to achieve more than frustration and agony.
Hope you guys enjoyed. And when days is dark, always rember happy days.
Thanks to Hagane for helping with the guide and edits.
See you guys later.
