Most World at War mods come in the form of a executable that requires administrator.

This is unnecessary especially since the mods are installed to your user folder and potentially dangerous since you really don't know what the program could be executing as administrator.

1. Install 7-Zip from:
https://www.7-zip.org/download.html

2. Download a mod from:
https://callofdutyrepo.com/

ZombieModding lost half of their files and ugx-mods requires an account to download anything.
Also was easier for me to find map fixes on callofdutyrepo than the official ugx-mods site.


3. Right click the mod in explorer. You should see a 7-Zip option in the menu. Click the 'Extract to' option. You should see 7-Zip open up and it extracting the mod files.

4. Press the Windows key and R at the same time. The Run window should appear. Then enter: %localappdata%

You should now have one window with the extracted mod files and the other with %localappdata%.


5. With the extracted mod files, enter the folder and then the $1 folder. This is where the actual mod is stored. You can also tell because inside this folder will be .ff and .iwd files.

6. With the %localappdata% folder, find the Activision folder. In this folder should be another folder called CoDWaW. In this folder you should see the 'mods' and 'players' folder. If you don't see a 'mods' folder, create it.

7. Copy the mod to this folder. Once copied the game should see it and you can be able to load it with the mods option from the main menu.
