Dragonball Mutations

Opis
Mod Overview
Want to play a dragonball character in Qud? DBMutations is an ongoing project that'll add new Mutant subtypes that have access to dragonball themed skill trees.

Current Content - v1.0.5
Currently available is the Saiyan Descendant and Namekian subtypes, with access to the following skill trees:

Ki Skills (All Subtypes)
Skill Name
Description
Ki Pool
Adds a Ki Pool part to your character that charges overtime, or when damaged. Use Ki to activate various skills.
Martial Artist (free)
Your fists do 1d3 damage. This increases by 1d3 at each 5th level.
Change Ki Color
Allows you to change the color of your ki attacks
Ki Beam
Deal {level}d6+Willpower Bonus damage in a 15 tile line. This can be increased by other skills.
Radiant Ki
Your Ki casts light around you, and increases the size of your Ki Pool.
Afterimage
You add your agility stat to your DV for 3 turns.
Focused Ki
Increases your Ki-based damage dice by d2, and increases the size of your Ki Pool.
Kaio-ken!
Doubles your strength (modifier). Lose 15% hp per turn while active. Chance to send your enemies flying (through walls).
Makankosappo (Special Beam Cannon)
Spend 20 ki to begin charging your attack. Every turn spent charging will try to use 10 ki to increase the number of your damage die (from a minimum of 2+KiDice to a maximum of 20). Reactivating exerts your charged current ki into a powerful beam, dealing damage to all enemies in a straight line.
Ki Heal
You channel 10 ki per turn to heal a nearby target for [(PlayerLevel/4)d4+WillpowerMod]

Saiyan Lineage Tree (Saiyan Only)

Description
Zenkai Boost
Whenever you have a near-death experience and fully recover (<20% health), you gain one attribute point.
Super Saiyan
You rage, irradiating a powerful ki, the likes of which the world has never seen. Your attributes are increased by 6% of your maximum ki, your attacks can cause knockback, and you move faster.

Namekian Tree (Namekian Only)
Skill Name
Description
Limb Regeneration
Focus your energy to regrow a limb. You must be at maximum ki, as it will take all of your ki to regenerate.
Meditation
You take time to meditate and regenerate your ki. While standing still and out of combat, you regenerate ki (Intelligence * 20)% faster than normal. This rate scales with your intelligence attribute.
Explosive Demon Wave
Exerts your current ki in a radius around you, dealing (currentKi/10)d8+Willpower damage to all enemies within a 5 tile radius. This damage scales off of your current ki.
Spawn Minion
Sacrifice half of your health to hurl up an unquestioning, mutating minion. Only available to Namekians of the Demon Clan. There are three types of minions you can summon:
  • Unstable Minion (Starts with Level 3 Unstable Genome; Balanced stats)
  • Chimera Minion (Starts with Chimera Mutation and 4 Mutation Points; Better physical stats)
  • Esper Minion (Starts with Esper Mutation and 4 Mutation Points; Better mental stats)
Dominate Minion
Override the will of one of your minions, allowing you to control them. Only available to Namekians of the Demon Clan. This will allow you to spend your skill, mutation, and attribute points from your minions leveling up as well as manually cast their abilities.

Namekian Clans
An extra bit of flavoring for Namekians, you'll be able to select one for free and gain associated bonuses.

Dragon Clan
Gains abilities to Heal and Aid others. (Implements Ki Heal and grants for free, +4 MA bonus, +60 Max Ki Bonus)
Warrior Clan
Gains combat bonuses (+4 DV bonus, +2 KiPool.damageDieMod boost, +30 Max Ki, Makankosappo (Special Beam Cannon) for free)
Demon Clan
Gain the ability to spawn and control minions

What's next?
The following features are in design/development. I'll be taking a break before beginning work on 1.0.6, and will likely only be doing small changes / bugfixes for a bit.

Planned for Release 1.0.6
  • Ability AI Programming: Currently, the abilities provided by this mod do not have logic to tell AI how to use them. This means that when you control one of your minions and grant them a Ki Skill, you must control them in order to use it. Adding this programming will allow them to use these abilities automatically.
  • Sounds: Not all skills have associated sounds right now. Need to find copyright-free or appropriate in-game sounds to assign.
  • Namekian NPCs: Add additional Namekian sprites and create several different types of Namekian NPCs to populate villages with.
  • Namekian Villages: Villages that contain Namekian NPCs and a Dragonball.
  • Namekian Fusion: Namekian villages will contain an NPC that Namekian players can fuse with to increase their power.
  • Dragonballs: Will spawn in Namekian villages. Collecting 7 will allow you to make a Wish.

Planned for Release 1.0.7+
  • Transformation rework for Saiyan Descendants

Would be cool if True Kin got Ki attacks in some way, like how some of the androids were converted from humans afaik.

Hi. I have included the majority of your content in my mod "the voideldren". After that I tried to balance some of your skills and change other. I also added several phases of supersayan and divine transformation (with different names because it is not dragon ball themed). If you do not have time feel free to copy whatever you like. I also created my own sprites that you can use if needed. Thanks a lot.

I haven't been working on the project as I started a new job and have been contributing to some other open source projects with my free time. So unless some folks want to contribute there is no current effort going into the next release. I can work on adding more once I'm better settled into my new position and some of my other side work dies down - I don't know when that'll be as of this time

@jahorot you may use the code to write new mods but it must be in its own namespace to avoid conflicts with this mod. I would prefer the sprites created for this mod remain unique to the mod and not be used elsewhere.

v1.0.5 has been uploaded to the workshop. It is recommended to make new characters with this release as a lot has been added and there will likely be issues with older modded saves.

I'm currently working on the release process for 1.0.5 (Release notes, wiki updates, updating the test plan, executing the plan, creating the release, and uploading and updating the workshop page.) Release should hopefully be published later this evening.
