"Apache revolver (1860)
The design dates from the 1860s, and is attributed to Louis Dolne. The gun was manufactured until the end of the 1870s
By its type, "Apash" was a so-called "pepperbox" ("pepper shaker") - each chamber of the drum served simultaneously as a barrel, so the drum was significantly longer than a 7-mm cartridge .Accordingly, the barrel was missing, and the bullet was fired through a hole in the bridge of the revolver frame, covering the front of the drum.
The rest of the weapon was completely unique: the handle of the revolver was cast from steel or brass, holes for the fingers were drilled in it, and it could fold under the drum and frame, as it was attached to a hinge. The trigger was also foldable.
In the folded position, the owner could squeeze the drum in his palm by sticking his fingers through the holes in the handle,as a result of which he became the owner of a strong brass knuckle.
In addition, a folding wavy blade of a dagger type with a spring mechanism was attached to the lower part of the frame of the revolver in front of the drum. The blade could fold under the frame or, if necessary, unfold by pressing a special button.

Yes you are right!
A special variation of this kind of handgun, in which the shortness of the barrel cluster was fully utilized, is the French "Apache Revolver".
This weapon, allegedly popular among Paris street gangs, was fitted with a folding blade and knuckle-duster.
The pepperboxes from this period disappeared with the demise of the pinfire cartridge.
