I walkthrough the current version a week ago and didn't notice any inconsistencies in the manual.
Literally a couple little things. The stat boost is now worth +1 point for every 10 points in that stat. Well, and it seems to me that the fight to carnage mode is worth it only for certain enemies that drop tens of thousands of blood drops. The rest are killed in the second half of the game with a couple of spells (on the "hell" difficulty), and a hundred blood drops are not worth 10-12 extra clicks.
>>If you're doing a "teleport to the shelter at turn 1" run though, then yeah Explorer is practically a necessity.
Well, not on the first turn, but before the wolf. :)
As for the Explorer trait, the reason I don't rate it higher is that its long-term utility is very low. With lategame levels requiring north of 60k XP to raise, a character that spent the whole game with Explorer is probably going finish the game at about the same level as one without it. Maybe one or two levels higher at most, which translates to 1-2 stat points. Being slightly ahead of the level curve with Explorer at the beginning-middle of the game is nice, but you can probably get much more bang for your buck with something else in that trait slot. If you're doing a "teleport to the shelter at turn 1" run though, then yeah Explorer is practically a necessity.
I would add a few little things.
First, it's not a good idea to make a save before opening a lock and download the save if you fail. Lockpicks are very cheap to produce (and creating them increases crafting skill), negative experience when trying to open a lock also increases lockpicking skill, and successful attempts alone won't be enough to fully pump the skill by the end of the game.
Secondly, I would rate the explorer trait much higher. Remember, gaining 3-4 experience points per cell can be pretty quick (money is only worth spending on traits improvements).
Also, I couldn't properly understand the mechanics of sp and hp recovery (how exactly magic items with this trait work and how good they are). To understand it, you need to know how much and when sp and hp is restored, but the game manual doesn't say that.
