Hello one and all!

What we have here, is a small project I like to call Gm_Apartment. Remember those by-gone days of survival horror games, with their charming puzzles and characters that controlled like m1 Abrams tanks? Yeah me too! It sucks that there are literally none around these days, some of my best memories were from playing the Silent Hill games at 1 o'clock in the morning back when I was 12. Ahhh, childhood scarring. But I digress.

Gm_Apartment is a small single player map that re-creates the gameplay of those old Survival Horror titles. Explore an old deserted apartment building and discover what stories the previous residents left behind! Pick up items! Use them! Solve puzzles! The fun will literally never end!

Q: Can I use the sandbox spawn menu in this map?
A: No, the spawn menu has been replaced with the inventory system.

Q: I'm getting an script error about "VGUI"!
A: Im aware of this error, i'm not sure if I can fix it sorry.
( But if anybody knows how to fix this error I would gladly accept the help! )

Q: Can I use my addons on this map?
A: Kinda, But please disable all your addons for the best experience.

Q: Is this a horror map?
A: Yes.

Q: Can I play this with friends?
A: No, this map is only meant for singleplayer not Multiplayer.

Q: Can I play this map with VRMod?
A: No, you cannot even progress the tutorial room without the inventory menu and It's really buggy.

Q: Will this map be expanded with more rooms?
A: I was planning for an expansion for the map, But I've completely scrapped it.

Q: Im seeing pink & black checkerboards & errors..!
A: You need HL2 EP2 mounted. (as stated above)

Q: Wheres the tutorial Crank?!
A: You require HL2 EP2 Mounted, otherwise you cannot get past the tutorial.


Q: Can I use theses entities for my own map projects?
A: Yes check the changelogs for the github link but please credit the original creators.

Q: My game crashes when I try to load the map!
A: Disable all your addon's and try again if that doesn't work then I don't know what causing the crash.

Q: How do I exit the TypeWriter?
A: Press the "END" Key on your keyboard.

Q: I'm getting missing textures even when I have HL2 EP2 Mounted!
A: The way to fix this bug is you need to turn on HDR in your video settings.

Q: Wheres my lighter I don't see it!
A: Read this discussion about the addon conflictions.

Q: Where can I find the original source for this mod?

Q: How much content does this map have?
A: I'd say around 25 or 35 minutes of content, depending how you solve the puzzles.

Q: Can I use cheats in this map?
A: Yes type sv_evil_cheats 1 into the console.

( I will keep updating the FAQ if new questions are asked. )

• You can still open your inventory while loading or doing other tasks.
  
• VGUI Error even though the vgui is working fine. (its abit annoying)
  
• You MIGHT get an engine error about the map loading too early.
  
• You can hang any objects on the wall in room 202. ( luckily it doesn't break anything. )
