100%ing Rooms Guide

This guide will help you get 100% in all the Active Searches - intended to be used AFTER you've completed the story!

In each section, if I can think of one, I've included a hint or two about the parts you might be missing, if you're stuck on like 98% and want to try to discover it on your own. Underneath that is the full list of steps you need to 100% the room.

There may be minor spoilers in each section, so beware if you haven't finished the game yet!

You can 100% this room in one go.

Hint: If you are stuck at like 96%, it might have to do with the shoes and light switch.

Full list of steps:
• Use light switch
• Use light switch again
• Examine beds
• Examine fire alarm, four times
• Examine side table with vase (underneath the light switch)
• Examine shoes (next to that side table)
• then Use shoes
• Examine rug
• Use light switch again
• Use rug
• Examine Zachary poster on the wall
• Examine mirror
• Examine, then Use silver table on the bottom right
• Use wooden table with drawers on the far right
• Talk to Ray
• Examine beds again
• Use, then Examine the wardrobe
• Interact with silver table 4 times (Use, Use, Examine, Use)
• Use mirror

If you didn't get 100% your first time through, it probably has something to do with when you examined and used the shoes, and when you used the light switch. I can't figure out the reason why, but the order listed above will get you to 100%. Using the mirror finishes the search.
Church
You can 100% this room in one go.

Hint: If you are missing any percentage points for this room, it might be shortly after entering the puzzle solution.

Full list of steps:
• Examine pews
• Talk to E
• Examine left pillar
• Examine stained glass window
• Examine pillar on the right
• Examine thing next to the pillar (incense)
• Examine bottom of the altar in the middle of the room
• Examine stand on the stage (the pulpit)
• (You don't need to examine it again to get 100%, but if you do, Simon's dialogue is a bit different the second time)
• Examine big red cross
• Use stained glass windows, the order is Diamond, Heart, Heart, Club; you don't need the Spade to get 100% in the room
• Examine bottom of the altar in the middle of the room again
• Talk to E
• Examine everything else except for the incense
• Examine incense last
• Use altar

Using the altar ends the search.
Gymnasium
It is not possible to 100% this room in one go.

Hint: Some things change depending on where E is.

Hint 2: Did you interact with everything in the jail cell area?

Hint 3: Some things change depending on if you used the basketball first, or the jail cell area first.

Then you'll need to replay the room to get to 100%, and this time:

You don't have to finish the search this time, your choices will be saved if you leave the room now.
Infirmary
You can 100% this room in one go.

To do so:
• Examine bed
• Examine poster on the wall
• Examine air conditioning vent/fan, two times
• Examine sink, five times
• Examine shelf
• Examine handrail above the bed
• Use, then Examine cupboard
• Use handrail above the bed

You can do the above in pretty much any order, and the search won't finish until you Talk to Jasmine last.
Laboratory (Science Lab)
It is not possible to 100% this room in one go.

Hint: Some things in the search change after Jasmine joins you.

Hint 2: Jasmine joins you after you examine the light gray door.

• Examine microscope (towards the left)
• Examine computer on top of the desk
• Examine under the desk
• Examine dark gray bolted-up door
• Examine silver rolling cart thingy
• Examine big power switch on the wall
• Examine window on the far right
• Use stuff on the table in the middle of the room
• Examine light gray hallway door
• Talk to Jasmine
• Examine shelf above the desk
• Examine microscope (towards the left) again
• Examine dark gray bolted-up door again
• Examine silver rolling cart thingy again
• Examine computer on top of the desk again
• Use computer

Then you'll need to replay the room to get to 100%, and this time:
• Examine light gray hallway door first thing, so Jasmine comes out
• Now examine microscope (towards the left)
• Then examine big power switch on the wall

You don't have to finish the search this time, your choices will be saved if you leave the room now.

For the most part, this room can be done in any order, but the dialogue for the microscope and the big power switch change after you examine the light gray hallway door, which is when Jasmine joins you. Using the computer ends the search.
Library
It is not possible to 100% this room in one go.

Hint: Your last percentage points might have to do with a key and a book.

Hint 2: Simon finds the key upstairs, and the book is found in the trash can.

Hint 3: It ALSO probably has to do with a chair.

Full list of steps:
• Talk to Marco, twice
• Examine chair on the far right
• Examine pillar on the far right
• Examine computers/chairs on the right (below the pillar)
• Examine balcony area (upper-most eye symbol)
• Examine area directly below the balcony
• Examine planter
• Examine front desk
• Examine “Please be quiet!” poster on the wall
• Examine trash can below the poster
• Use trash can
• Examine chair on the far right again
• Use stairs
• Examine clock on the wall
• Use stairs again
• Use chair on the far right
• Use clock on the wall again

Then you'll need to replay the room to get to 100%, and this time:
• Use stairs
• Examine clock on the wall
• Use stairs again
• Examine chair on the far right

You don't have to finish the search this time, your choices will be saved if you leave the room now.

The chair on the far right is the searchable object that changes in this room - Simon's dialogue changes the first time he sits in it, depending on if he's found the key and not the book, or vice versa.
Pantry
It is not possible to 100% this room in one go.

Hint: Is Ray still eating a pickle?

Hint 2: Some interactions change depending on if Ray has joined in the search or not.

Hint 3: Ray joins Simon after you Use the box.

Hint 4: If you still can't figure it out, it probably has to do with the plant.

• Talk to Ray

Then you'll need to replay the room to get to 100%, and this time:
• Examine computer screen in the middle
• Examine, then Use box
• Talk to Ray
• Examine plant

You don't have to finish the search this time, your choices will be saved if you leave the room now.

Ray stands up and examines objects with you after you Use the box and then Talk to him, so the dialogue for some items changes depending on whether he's still sitting down or if he's gotten up. The plant is the only one that you can't get in one go, because the dialogue while examining it with Ray changes depending on if Simon examined it alone first (none of the other items in the room do that). Using the fridges ends the search.
Pool
It is not possible to 100% this room in one go.

Hint: If you don't have 100% in this room, it might have to do with the final puzzle.

Full list of steps:
• Examine pool on the bottom right
• Examine right side of the color machines
• Examine chair in the middle
• Examine left side of the color machines
• Examine letters on the wall
• Examine paddle on the floor
• Examine lifesaver on the bottom left
• Use paddle
• Use lifesaver
• Examine letters on the wall again
• Use the first machine, Green
• Examine the chair again
• Use the machines in the correct order: Cyan, Blue, Purple, Red, Orange, Yellow (the reverse also works, Yellow, Orange, Red, Purple, Blue, Cyan)

Then you'll need to replay the room to get to 100%, and this time:
• Examine, and Use paddle
• Use lifesaver
• Examine letters on the wall
• Use any machine in the wrong order three times

You don't have to finish the search this time, your choices will be saved if you leave the room now.

Some of the objects in here need to be examined before others, like the letters on the wall and then the lifesaver before the paddle, so that may be where you're missing percentage points. If you're stuck at 86%, it might be the difference between getting the final puzzle right or wrong.
Reactor
It is not possible to 100% this room in one go.

Full list of steps:

You can only examine 4 things per go before the search automatically ends, so this is one example of steps you could take to get 100%.

You might already have these ones done, but just to cover everything, for your first run:
• Examine screen on the far left
• Examine whiteboard thing in the left corner
• Examine back wall
• Use back wall

Restart the room, then:
• Talk to H
• Examine top of the reactor
• Examine #9 door in the right corner
• Examine machinery on the far right

Restart it again, then:
• Examine inside of the reactor
• Use objects on the left (where the hand symbol just showed up)
• Use inside of the reactor
• Use inside of the reactor again

The first eight bullet points can pretty much be done in any order, but the last four must be done in that specific order to 100% the room. If you finished the game though, you should already have all those checked. :p
Recreation Room (Casino)
It is not possible to 100% this room in one go.

Hint: It might have something to do with which casino game you chose to play the first time.

Hint 2: It might also have something to do with where you found the coins to play the games.

Hint 3: You find the coins in either the red couch, or the white pillar in the right side corner of the room.

• Talk to G
• Examine curtains in the middle
• Examine dark gray cabinet on the far right
• Examine white pillar/vase

So you'll need to replay the room to get to 100%, and this time:
• Examine couch
• Use couch
• Examine white pillar/vase
• Examine, and Use slot machines

You don't have to finish the search this time, your choices will be saved if you leave the room now.

The two big differences in this room are: whether you got the coins out of the couch or the white pillar/vase, and whether you played the slot machines or the roulette table.
Security Room
It is not possible to 100% this room in one go.

Hint: If you're missing percentage points in this room, it might have to do with the left doorway.

Hint 2: It also might have to do with the bookshelf.

Hint 3: Also, try examining the chairs again.

Full list of steps:
• Examine desk on the far right
• Examine screens on the right
• Examine switch on the wall
• Examine right doorway
• Examine red cross on the floor
• Examine left doorway, then Use it
• Examine a/c unit on the left wall, twice
• Examine office chairs
• Examine bookshelf on far left
• Use bookshelf on far left
• Use left doorway
• Examine the 4 items in the little room
• Use the doorway to leave and reenter this room a couple times, until the hand symbol over the doorway has a red check mark
• Examine “Supers” shelf in the middle of the main room, then Use it
• Now enter the little room again and Use the wires
• Use the doorway again
• Talk to Jasmine
• Use computer screen in the little room

Then you'll need to replay the room to get to 100%, and this time:
• Examine bookshelf on the far left, twice
• Examine office chairs

You don't have to finish the search this time, your choices will be saved if you leave the room now.

You may have missed percentage points if you examined the chairs first, because that makes it so you miss an interaction with the bookshelf. The doorway from inside the little room is also easy to miss since you have to interact with it several times.

The main difference in this room is the chairs, which have a different line of dialogue the second time you start the room and examine them. (They might show up as already having a red check mark, but the dialogue is different upon replaying the room and does count towards your percentage.)
Theater
It is not possible to 100% this room in one go.

Hint: Simon says there's "nowhere to go but up from here".

Hint 2: You can use that ladder backstage.

Hint 3: There are some items you'll have to Examine before you can Use them.

Hint 4: Be sure to put the ladder back where you found it. :)

Full list of steps:

You can only examine 5 things per go before the search automatically ends, so this is one example of steps you could take to get 100%. You should already have the door on the far right side checked off because it's necessary to finish the story (you can only examine it 4 times before the search ends in that route).

You might already have these ones done, but just to cover everything, for your first run:
• Examine archway under the balcony
• Examine crowd
• Talk to E (talking to E automatically ends the search no matter how many items you've interacted with)

Restart the room, then:
• Examine front of the stage
• Examine under the table on the stage
• Examine on top of the table on the stage
• Use the table (using the table automatically ends the search no matter how many items you've interacted with)

Restart it again, then:
• Examine backstage (the ladder)
• Use backstage/ladder
• Examine light
• Use light
• Use backstage/ladder again to put it back down

Restart it again, then:
• Examine, and Use ladder again
• Examine, and Use upper balcony

You don't have to finish the search in between runs, your choices will be saved if you leave the room now.
