Guide
A simple guide to running Tomb Raider 2 with DS4 Xinput. None of the guides currently on Steam worked for me so I had to figure something out for myself.

-Step 1: Download DS4 for Windows. https://github.com/Jays2Kings/DS4Windows/releases

-Step 2: Make sure your Controller is connected to your PC via bluetooth. Get your PC Searching and hold the PS home button and the share button at the same time for a few seconds to get your PS4 controller searching. You'll know it's searching because the light bar will start to flash.

-Step 3: Once your connected, right click DS4 and launch AS ADMINISTRATOR (This is important or it won't work.) and start a new profile. You'll wanna name it TR2 or something so that you can quickly find it again later.

-Step 4: You should be seeing a layout of your controller on the right. Click your Buttons and start assigning them to KEYBOARD values.
So in essence, you are having the buttons correspond to keyboard buttons. It's like a built-in JoyToKey function!
I used:
Dpad up: up arrow
Dpad left: left arrow
Dpad down: down arrow
Dpad right: right arrow
R1: Z
R2: X
L1: B
L2: C
Cross: Ctrl
Square: Alt
Circle: Shift
Triangle: Space
Options: Esc
Share: Forward Slash
Now hit save and make sure you are using your TR2 profile. Don't close DS4. You must minimzie it and keep it running in the background.

-Step 5: Now Launch Tomb Raider 2. You may want to first launch it from your Steam Library and select the configure launch option, and make sure that you have your controller selected in the controller section.

-Step 6: Now launch Tomb Raider 2 for real and navigate to the control settings in-game. if you hit right it will show controls you can edit as opposed to the defaults. Your keyboard will still work and most of the buttons on your controller should too. The final step is to make the controls match the buttons you set on your controller. Unfortunately you can't actually use the defaults because it includes some weird bindings that seem to conflict on the controller for some reason. For Example; the default buttons for step left and step right are "delete' and "page Down". This simply did not read for me and so I had to rebind them in-game to "x" and "c" and then make sure that my Ps4 Controller had L2 and R2 bound as X and C respectively.

Hopefully this made sense and helped you.
Happy Tomb Raiding

Troubleshooting:
It worked but now it doesn't.
Make sure you always start DS4 As Admin or it will not work.

Sorry to hear that the guides not working out. It sounds to me like maybe the problem is with your DS4 program? I would try reinstalling the program, deleting the default profile and creating a new one.
If it still doesn't work assign the controller buttons to different keyboard keys. I remember when I first tried this certain keys just didn't want to work, I think that backspace and enter was among them. Hope this helps!

I have still some issues with the DS4 program, like I did everything so far what you wrote in your guide and followed each step but here are my issues:
1. when I used the DS4 program and did the layout for my controller, like Cross is Ctrl, Square is Alt, Circle is Shift, Triangle is Space, and so on, however when I clicked "save (profile)" then a little window shows up says like "press continue in order to ignore this and that and so on"

and at the bottom of this window says "InvalidArgument=Value with the value -1" and so on as well saying something like "Parametername: index" (don't know if Parametername is English or German because I'm from Germany)

Please help I'm trying to find a way to play Tomb Raider 2 with my PS4 controller for SOOOOO long and this is one of the few useful guides to get my goal to play Tomb Raider :demoticon::medicon::steamsad::steamfacepalm:
