If you experience lag or slowness on some parts of the game, it may be due to Steam defaulting to using DXVK, which at least on my hardware causes some issues; to fix this add the following Launch Option to the game:

PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command%

That way it uses WineD3D with OpenGL instead, which works without any issues for this game.
