I went looking online for help after discovering that the trophies "Servant of Arek" and "Warrior of Maktis" are impossible to complete on Katharine because she starts with spells in those books. I loaded a save from a completed run on Elisa where I had gone full Power, no Finesse, and found I lacked the stats needed. Thanks to this guide, I realized I had missed an arcane shrine somewhere, and that little bit of difference was enough to learn the final spells.
In addition to the arcane knowledge locations listed - Dupont Estate, South of Fair, North of Folster, you can find them: southwest of the brigand camp, behind a farm only accessible late in the game (the bridge will be broken initially); just east of the brigand camp, where you first meet Brand; and finally, where you encounter the first Scryer battle, east of the capitol (not sure if it's accessible until after you've removed the corruption).
It's possible there's more quests like this later in the game.
Ah interesting. I did all the quests and only got 39 power/finesse points, so somehow you got 2 extra point. Maybe there are quests where the rewarded points are not equal for both solutions. But I think even if 28/16 is possible, it would be hard to utilize this as you need so many talent points to reach the higher tiers.
