Special Keys and Key Combinations:

Hold Space - Jetpack

E + Space - Grappling Hook

Hold R - Special Weapons Menu
includes the following items: Gauss, Egon, Bugbait, Annabelle, Sniper, Plasma Rifle, Molotov, Minigun, Lasergun and Health Kit
Strategy
- Help each other (it's coop...): you can use the med kit to heal other teammates, meaning they don't have to stop mid-fight to heal via commands. You can't use the med kit to heal yourself. Even just staying near your teammates increases everyone's survivability. Although there is no penalty for dying you may lose certain weapons if the map does not make everyone weapon available at the start meaning you will have to spend credits to regain them back meaning usually its worth staying alive and not constantly throwing yourself into disadvantageous situations.

- Use commands to your advantage, spend credits to gain even more credits. If you're out of ammo on a certain weapon generally its worth spending the 40 credits to get more ammo then switch to a worse weapon. Use !suit to gain increased survivability as well as !health if you absolutely need to.

Weapons/Items:

Base Half-Life 2 Weapons

Crowbar: The biggest use of the crowbar is on headcrabs which die in one hit regardless of which type, otherwise its mostly useless unless you want to spawn camp a certain enemy with a few other teammates using it.

Sunstick: The sunstick has a much slower fire rate than the crowbar making it useless.

Gravity Gun: Not that useful in coop, but might help if you want to boost up to a certain point, especially if jetpack is not enabled on a certain map.

Pistol: Never use the pistol as its just plain bad.

SMG: The primary fire is very low damage just like the pistol and not very useful, although the secondary fire has its uses for clearing large groups of enemies.

Pulse Rifle: The pulse rifle has a relatively low damage primary fire, the secondary fire (orb) can be useful in tight spaces for clearing out larger groups of enemies, generally vortigaunts.

Shotgun: Limited to close range and although ok damage, other weapons are better.

Crossbow: It one shots a lot of enemies with a slow fire rate and can be useful if you need to take out a few enemies if you ran out of ammo on other weapons while making a retreat.

.357 Magnum: Good for dealing with low health enemies and does increased damage on headshots. Not bad, but not enough ammo to be sustainable to use. Also useful if you need to quickly kill some enemies, but have nothing else.

RPG: Out of all of the base half-life weapons this is the one you will really only be using along side grenades if you want to play in the most optimal way possible. Its main uses are taking out large clusters of enemies as well as helicopters, striders and other large health enemies. Note: when using the rocket launcher you can control the rocket once fired in 1st person mode by clicking the right mouse button.

Grenades: Nothing much to say, they're useful but generally there are better options unless they are the only thing you have.

Special Weapons/Items

Gauss: Probably the best weapon due to it's large ammo pool and good damage output. The secondary fire is insanely good for large groups on enemies, especially antlions, zombies and headcrabs.

Egon: Solid weapon, mostly used for killing antlion guards. The ammo recharges passively at 30 ammo, every second or so up to 150 ammo. Its has great damage but the ammo runs out really fast.

Bugbait: The bugbait is pretty much useless as it spawns friendly antlions which usually get killed by your own team.

Annabelle: The reload time is incredibly long on top of that it can only fire once, so there is really never a reason to use it.

Sniper: If you need to kill a enemy from really far away it's fine. The only time I've found use for it is if a vortigaunt is sniping you from across the map. You'll barely ever need to use it, if ever.

Plasma Rifle: Its secondary fire is really strong against manhacks and rollermines due to the sizable blast radius. It recharges ammo, but also runs out really fast, meaning its better to use weapons like the Gauss as your primary weapon against other enemies.

Molotov: Not great as it takes a long time to throw, but it's ok against larger groups of enemies if you want to use it.

Minigun: Good at really close range, but generally not worth using past that as it has a strong recoil making it very ineffective at long range.

Lasergun: The lasergun is most useful for healing your teammates at a longer range, it regains ammo by healing teammates meaning it is a good alternative to the med kit.

Health Kit: The health kit or med kit is used to heal your teammates at close range. The right mouse button shouts a voice command, just like the medics in hl2 alerting your team that they can be healed. It also has infinite uses unlike the lasergun which can run out of ammo if you are not solely using it for healing your team.
