Intro - "I have a TITAN GIGANTOUS 40980 GTXXL ZL 9293-L GPU but it still stutters ... ?"
Hey,
welcome to my guide on how to fix your frame rate issues.

First I want to address what I have written in this sections title, as that is a misconception a lot of people have to face.

Most of the time it is NOT the hardware that's the issue at hand when playing old games like this. (Released 2006 in EU) It's most likely compatibility issues, outdated code or just poorly written software on the devs side.

As you will see in the coming guide, it is a mixture of all of the above and some other stuff.

I'm not saying that ANY hardware can run this game, but if you don't have a laptop from 2009 that's still running Windows Vista and boots up so long you can have breakfast, brush your teeth and still have 10 minutes to wait - then you're probably doing just fine.

Feel free to add suggestions in the comments.
Multiple Monitors
What can happen?
- Game stutters or freezes when moving the mouse [!]
- Game stutters in general

Explanation
Fiesta Online can act up when you have several monitors running. There can be a thousand reasons as to why exactly, but the most safe solution is to just deactivate secondary or tertiary screens as long as you're playing. To make it easier, use the windows command "WIN + P" to access the monitor management tab.

[!] Often times in conjunction with the newest nvidia drivers, look at last section [!]

Solution
Deactivate other screens
Big character names activated
What can happen?
- Game stutters especially in populated areas/cities

Explanation
For some odd reason, the bigger name tags of characters are prone to cause stutters in-game. So far there not been a lot of feedback as to why that is, but the community overall just decided to deactivate it in the game settings all together - just to be safe.

Solution
Deactivate bigger name tags / Activate smaller name tags in the game options
High mouse polling rate
What can happen?
- Game stutters or freezes when moving the mouse [!]

Explanation
A lot of older software, as well as some new software, have an issue with the newer gaming mice. If you have, for example, a "roccat kone aimo" like I do (Or any high-end mouse), then you probably have a software with it in which you can set the polling rate. A lot of people go "Bigger number, bigger person" and press the highest possible polling rate. Watch out tho, as most games take issue with polling rates too high, just like Fiesta Online does. It wil lag immensely as you move your mouse around.

Solution
Set the polling rate to something around ~250Hz
Chat too big
What can happen?
- Game stutters in general

Explanation
For some odd reason, a lot of people experience stutters when their chat window is scaled up. If you don't know what to do anymore to fix your issues, try scaling down both your chat and event window.

Solution
Scale down chat and event window
Player names activated
What can happen?
- Game stutters in cities or highly populated areas

Explanation
Sometimes deactivating the player names when near a lot of players can help a little.

Solution
Deactivate player names
Nvidia update from 2020 makes game lag
What can happen?
- Game stutters or freezes when moving the mouse [!]
- Game stutters in general

Explanation
Apparently, nvidia pushed an update in november 2020 that screwed over several older gaming titles. I myself had the same problem.
