How to Silence Ada Laird. Permanently (without consequences).
By Tornado
No longer have the lines "Keeping it together Bree" or "It smells worse in here than a dozen eggs rottin in a vat of vinegar" harass your eardrums while you're in the square.

How to silence Ada Laird. Permanently.
1. Observe her walking path and trap her with crates and barrels. This should silence her, however if you wish to silence her permanently:
2. Use a smoke grenade and conceal both yourself and Ada.
3. Permanently silence her. No penalties should be received.
4. After the deed is done, an NPC will come up to you and ask if you know anything about the murder. Pass the persuasion test and you're free from Ada's haunting phrases.

Omg, so I tried to teleport Ada over somewhere hidden. She dies instantly from it and the whole town fights. Luckily I can flee anytime, so I went somewhere else. I'm hoping I can return at some point with no consequence.

The explosive trap skill doesn't register as a player owned source of damage and can be used to kill anyone with impunity. It's how I always kill the beggar by the statue.

You can also use teleport to get her between the inn and the magister building (more specifically, where the outhouses are) and you can kill her there.

You can also pretty much get rid of ALL the annoying NPC's on the markets with this, though it might require some finesse to pull it off, since you also have to be fast in order to get close to the target and initiate combat before they run into the line of sight of other NPC's.

I use this to get rid of the towncrier, Ada, those wine and cheese munchers by the well, that one dwarf chick that i "loan" the gloves off of her when the wine and cheese munchers have been dealt with, the magisters patrolling the square.

Once you've managed to free those NPC's from our misery, you can lighten the load from the merchants in the square by rifling through their pockets.

This solution shows off how well made the game is. I like how the smoke gives you a realistic way to solve the problem without getting in trouble nor using a lame cheat. I wonder if this is an intended event testing players' acumen?

Or you can just simply teleport her to a place with no npc nearby and "silence" her

"If I don't come visit ya, Tun, who will?"

"No one! That's the beauty of it!"
