Early game
In the early game I always start with Germany and buy all neighboring countries until I got all of central europe. The most important country here for my strategy seems to be Portugal to unlock the USA fast.

Mid game
After that my first goal is the USA. It offers a lot of passangers. And passangers = money! You can achieve that with saving and loading the game until it's your task.

I couldn't figure out if it's better to directly connect as many airports as possible (via big hubs) or not. My way is to offer routes from central europe (mostly Frankfurt) to some US destinations.

After that I continue with China (via Russia) and India.
Feedback
My strategy usually works for 50% of the countries, after that I always run out of money.

I figured out that Brasil also has heavy demand, but it's really not easy to achieve. I usually avoid Africa because of the low traffic, I did not get to South Africa yet.

Please if you have strategies, share them here and I will try them and add them to the guide!

Thanks a lot! I was getting pretty far into Europe and Africa with 160 minutes on the clock, but noticed that my income was no longer covering the speed required to unlock countries. I quickly bought the united states and a bit later china, and I got back on pace.

I tried doing hub and spoke for a while but it didn't gel for me. Rn I'm grinding Ladder & my strat is to connect up 4 or 5 small countries very fast with three routes to each airport: two local and one way out. I only upgrade my level 1 planes once and my capitals once, plus connect all my capitals together. Midgame, I connect each to only two close, but fill in any places on the map that look empty or too one-directional, then upgrade planes to 3, cities to 2, & horde money. If it's under 15 territories, I spam purchases. If it's more than that, for my endgame, I plan (I haven't gotten there yet) to save up for major countries like Russia, China, the US, etc, to speed up my dragon's horde, then using the above country spam to hit my goal. I don't get overcrowding warnings and I can play fairly passively, which I prefer. I like to imagine the people really appreciate the locally focused service. Is this a good strategy or should I try harder on the hubs?

I tend to stick to the hub and spoke model when playing. In larger countries like the US, I'll pick airports based on regions to act as hubs. Only hubs can go to other hubs, while spokes can go to their respective hubs within their country or region.

I start off with Ukraine, its a decently sized country. From there on I always focus on getting 2 lvl 4 planes on EVERY route (i haven't gotten very far since i stopped playing a bit, so idk how viable it is midgame)
