Is there any in-game acknowledgement of the speedrun or is it only the Steam achievement?
if you want to update the guide.
PS: this level was intended to train you on the new usecase of the diagonal splitters.
i kept trying to convert numbers to base 16 and enter those or match the clock. glad i checked here.
i also was considering just holding fast forward on the clock screen until its time matched the achievement icon. glad you noted that is NOT the solution to that one
So the mysterious last achievemnet is just a speedrun? Kidna disappointed with that. I was expection some clever meta ARG
For posteriority: I believe the dev is refering to HTTP status codes in which case the description would read: "Found | Conflict Gone | Accepted" - reference: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_HTTP_status_codes
What a nice wholesome ending
This code comes up a few times, at the end of the trailer, and in the Rich Presence stuff on your Steam friend list when you play. People in the Discord solved the trailer puzzles, so: check out HTML response codes!
As you've got basically all of it, here was the core idea: I was thinking how would something not-human communicate/ask for help if it had limited access to the outside world. I thought it might try as manage languages as it could find, including things it saw computers it tried to connect to using... It was inspired by things like Star Trek and the Voyager Golden Records!
As for making this guide - there is this ugly thing with puzzle games where you can get completely stuck on a fairly easy level. I experienced that during my casual playthrough (level Ba08; built-in hint system only gave me positions I already had but nothing on the left where the 3-way collision is set up that I didn't even think of). Games like these are so much better with a reference where you can get just a tiny nudge if you are really stuck. Then it was just a matter of "be the change you want to see in the world"
A couple of things you might be interested in:
1. HJEM was the game jam game that the team made in 2019 which led to SOLAS 128 being created, which is why it was included.
2. There are some sneaky mini-secrets and codes hidden in the rich text presence (the Steam friend list text changes depending where you are in the game) and the achievement descriptions
3. Did you notice the central hub's surround colour changes depending on the battery state?
Thanks again for playing and taking the time to write these guides, they've really made myself and the team so happy!
