Intro
Greetings, Programs!

If you're reading this, you're probably looking for a way to earn some stars, probably to grab those achievements. There are 5 Achievements tied to how many Stars you've earned. The first three are from the original game.

Scuzzy Data Miner (30 Stars from Tron City & Whiteout)

MCP (50 Stars from Tron City & Whiteout)
Truly Space Paranoid (96 Stars from Tron City & Whiteout)

Achievements from the original game (30/50/96 Stars) can be in any combination across Tron City (the Disc levels) and Whiteout (the Light Cycle levels). Because there are 25 Disc levels and 25 Cycle levels, that gives you a total of 50 levels to earn your 96 stars in. That means you just need 2 Stars in each level, and you can skip a couple of the harder ones.

ISO Escape (20 Stars from the Outlands DLC)

Want More Program? (48 Stars from the Outlands DLC)

The 2 DLC Achievements for Outlands (20/48 Stars) have to be in Outlands levels. There are only 16 of them, 8 Cycle and 8 Disc. To get 48 Stars, you have to earn 3-stars in every Outlands level.

Stars are given out at 3 point values for each level. However, each level has its own point value for each star. For example, in level 8 of Tron City, 2 million points earns you a single star, 2.75 million points earns you 2, and you get 3 stars for 3.5 million points. However, in level 10, you need 2.75 million points for 1 star, 3 million points for 2 stars, and 3.5 million points for 3. Eventually, it becomes apparent that the point breakdowns for each level are fairly arbitrary, with the devs making some point values easier to get than others. For instance, you can get 3 stars on level 8 without having to use anything in your Loadout, but I couldn't earn a single star in Level 10 until I bought some power-ups.

Hopefully this Guide will help you figure out what levels you may want to focus your efforts on, and which ones to skip. In general, the more Stars you can earn without a Loadout, the easier that level is.
Loadout & Bits

Your Loadout for each level gives you the possibility of adding 2 abilities, a Power-Up and a Byte Companion. Both of these cost Bits (the in-game currency) and microtransactions are no longer supported. As a result, it's a good idea to save your bits until you can consistently complete a level without dying and maintain an end-to-end combo. This is crucial to earning the high scores required by some Star point values.

Most Power-Ups and Byte Companions come in one of 2 flavors, "Survival" (such as Quantum X or Weapon modifications), and "Scoring" (such as the Bit Repeater or Aggregator). Spending bits on survival is a wasted expense, since higher scores require different score-focused loadouts. Focus on loadouts that either give you bits and/or increase your score.
Tron City Levels (Disc / Running)

Some point values are achievable with a combo from the beginning to end of a particular level. These values require no loadout (ie, no Add-ons, no Companion), so they are labeled “None.” The other values may be achievable with a variety of loadouts; the ones below are just what I used to get those ratings.

Whiteout (Light Cycle Levels)

I admit that I’m not as good on a cycle as I am with a disc. As a result, I tend to lean heavily on the Bit Compiler Companion to pick up bits, while I focus on hitting the time gates. You may be able to capture more stars without the Bit Compiler; I like having it around.

Outlands DLC

The Outlands are a mix of Disc & Cycle levels. Odd numbers are Disc, Even numbers are Cycles. To earn the "Want More Program?" Achievement requires 48 stars, which means you have to get a 3-star rating on all 16 levels.

So glad you found it useful! I'm working on a separate guide for the achievement that aren't star-based. Hopefully I'll have it up in the next week or so. I'm surprised there wasn't already a guide, but happy to do what I can to help others! :basica:

aiiii thanks for this guide. It is really helpful. There are overall way to less guides to understand what is to do. So big, big thanks ^^
