Beskrivning
BR Class 93 with Mark 5 coaches intended for the Intercity 250 project. With a design speed of 160 mph and an operational speed of 155 mph (257/250 kph respectively), they were intended to speed up travel on the West Coast Main Line alongside upgrades, increased cant and route re-alignments. Trains were supposed to be made up of a Class 93 engine, 9 coaches and a DVT. In late 1990, the concept was announced to the public after several years of work. The trains were supposed to be built by GEC-Alsthom, Bombardier, Prorail, or a ABB/British Rail Engineering Limited joint venture. However, in the wake of the 1990s economic crisis and the impending privatisation of BR, the project was cancelled with only mock-up models completed.

Not a lot of information was available, there was some creative guessing involved.
