The Ring of Life Protection makes it so that you lose NOTHING upon death, but breaks the ring. However, you can REPAIR the ring for 3000 souls. 3000 souls is literally nothing in mid to late game. In early game, it's easy to come by if you wear the Covetus Silver Serpent Ring you gain from Melentia.
It is THE highest damaging backstab weapon in the game, and you get it at the end of the first door on the left in the tutorial segment of Things Betwixt.
You only need to kill one firekeeper for the effigy's.
Aslong as you kill only one, you can still re-scale (the one at the table).
As far as I know, you can respawn them with a bonfire estetic.
