Panzer War - Cry of War English Guide
By Frankkönen
My guide is on how to get the most out of your game, I have seen many problems with mods among other things and I want to clarify some doubts that you may have with Panzer War and Cry of War.

Sorry if at any time there is something wrongly translated, I am not a native English speaker, but I do the best I can.

1: Mods Installation
This section of the guide was eliminated on 08/30/2024, because the page where the mods were no longer exists, the most advisable thing to avoid contracting viruses is to download only those that are on Steam, apart from that it seems that the creator already included several of the mods that were in the link that was previously here in the same game, you can skip to the next section.
2: Images and graphics, proper "Graphics / FPS" settings for your PC
Within the game configuration we will notice that there are several options to choose from, our configuration must be adequate to be able to play it comfortably, for that I will explain what each option that the game brings does and what it influences, for that I will put my PC as an example to that you compare it with yours.

My PC 2013 approx .:
CPU: Intel E8400 3.00 Ghz 2 cores
Graphics: 4GB Nvidia GTX-770
RAM: 4 GB

Old Machine 2006:
CPU: Intel Celeron 1 Ghz 1 core
Graphics: Intel 1GB integrated
RAM: 2 GB

Now we will see the following graphic adjustments and how they influence the game and what they are for:

Setting LOW, to play it on the Old PC, I have opened everything except the Shadow Distance which is in the Middle, the Flora is High and my Rendering Engine is Desktop:

- Rendering engine: Mobile, this is the type of rendering used by the game, it is like a kind of "Shader" in Minecraft.

- Full screen: Closed, this is full screen or not.

- HD material: CAUTION! This option can make the tanks that you downloaded not appear, since their textures are in HD, if you have a bad PC put it in Closed.

- Viewing distance: Low, this is the viewing distance (obvious captain).

- Flora: Low, the density of plants and vegetation on the map.

- Shadow: Closed, it is the level of shadows and their details.

- Shadow distance: Low, it is the distance of the shadows.

- 60FPS: Closed, is if you want the game to run at a speed of 60FPS.

- Postprocessing: Postprocessing, Low. (obvious captain).

- Anti-Aliasing: I don't quite remember what it was, but I think it's to avoid "sawed" at the edges in the textures, Closed.

- Independent suspension: closed, independent suspension, that each piece of it moves depending on the terrain it touches.

- Motion Blur: This would have it Closed always, I think it was that blur you see when you turn the camera quickly and it always bothers me, Closed.

- Bloom: Closed.

- HDR: high dynamic range images, closed.

- Anisotropic: It is to improve the quality of the textures, Closed.

- Play BGM: Background music, I have it in Closed since it bothers me.

- Language: Language, choose the one you want.

- Mod Patch: Open, the patches of the mods.

- Damage Stick: I think it is the brand that remains of penetration or ricochet, I don't think it affects Open so much.

- Soft particle: Soft, Closed particles. (obvious captain)

- Keep Wreckage: I don't know what this is, but Closed, I think it is that in 7vs7 or 5vs5 battles the destroyed tanks disappear.

- Track Mark: Mark left by the tracks, Closed.

- Track Effect: I suppose it is the animation of the track, closed.

- Mini Tank: I have no idea, Closed.

- Rotation indicator: Rotation indicator, optional, open or closed, I don't think it affects too much.

- Bot Camouflage: Bots use camouflages for more detail in the game, Closed.

- Quick Mod Loader: Fast loading of mods, if you have a bad processor, Closed.

- Super cache: Loading "advanced, Closed.

- Disable chat: disable chat, I think it's multiplayer only, optional.

- Mute sound: Mute sound, optional.
3: Game Types
There are several different types of game modes, which are:

What is the ban selection for ?: Those are the tanks and / or soldiers that you want the AI not to choose.

7 vs 7: It is a game mode in which 7 tanks against 7 face each other on a random map, you choose your tank and then start the battle, if you have downloaded mods it is very easy due to the probably bad "Tier" rating of modders, be at a disadvantage you or the enemy.

Multiplayer - Online multiplayer, no explanation needed.

Skirmish: Skirmish, a game mode in which you can customize the encounter, and optionally you can go beyond the time limit and continue playing, choosing a map, number of tanks, equipment, etc.

Commander Mode: Commander mode, basically you choose a map and create your own battle without any limit on the number of vehicles, and you can choose to drive whatever you want, perfect for recreating battles.

Historical mode: historical mode, play and create historical battles, similar to commander mode but you can create more teams.

Proving ground: Proving ground for you to learn your tanks.

Defensive Battle - Choose the KV1 or Tiger I and play to block German or Soviet attacks.

Racing mode - racing mode, literally tank racing.

Fury - recreate the battle from the movie.
4: Movements and Types of Ammunition
To move and shoot, the basics: Classic W, A, S, D and Mouse to move the turret, or in the case of tank destroyers to move it too, left click to shoot and right click constantly pressed to lock the gun, wheel of the mouse to switch the "aiming mode" on or off.

- To make the tank accelerate by itself: Letter R and Letter F, R to speed up and F to slow down.

- To use the viewer without the mouse wheel: Letter E

- To modify the elevation of the weapon: Letter U and Letter Y, and reset the elevation letter with I to 0

- To change ammunition: 1,2,3 and so on according to the ammunition types.

- To auto aim: Letter X

Types of ammunition:

There are several of them, and depending on the tank you use you can have one or the other, I will tell you the most common types that there are and what their different data mean:

10 mm: 1 centimeter
Penetrate: the amount of steel that the shot is capable of piercing.

AP: Armor Piercing
- I will use the Renault FT as an example.
Its AP ammunition is 37mm, or 3.7 centimeters, and its name is APXSA-18.
Its speed is 600 meters per second.
AP ammo has normal penetration on all tanks, normal damage, and good intermediate speed.

APCR: Armor Piercing Rigid Composite
- I'll use the Sdkfz 234 as an example.
Its APCR ammunition is 75mm, or 7.5 centimeters, and its name is Pzgr. 40.
Its speed is 1180 m / s, it is faster than the AP.
The APCR ammunition pierces much more steel than the AP, since its pointed shape means that in addition to having more "edge" it has more aerodynamics and is less heavy than the AP, its ability to pierce is excellent, its damage is reduced since it has very little or no explosive and its speed is excellent, ideal for use against well armored tanks such as the KV1 or VK168

HE: High Explosive
- I'll use the M3 Lee as an example.
Its HE ammunition is 75mm (that of its low barrel) measuring 7.5 centimeters M48.

Its speed is 619 m / s, a little faster than the AP of the Renault and slower than that of the Puma.
HE ammunition is so named because it has an excellent amount of explosive, its main purpose is not to penetrate but to explode out of the chassis, and dent it so that the steel "splinters" kill the crew, its speed is quite slow (it is faster than the Renault FT ammunition but because this is an outdated tank.) its penetration is lousy unless it is a long-range gun and the target is very poorly armored.

HEAT: High Explosive Tank
- I will use the KV-1/76 as an example
Its HEAT ammunition is 76.2 mm or 7.62 centimeters and its name is F34-HEAT.
Its speed is 973 m / s, faster than the HE but not as fast as the APCR,
The HEAT ammunition, its purpose is to hit, launch a "jet" of explosive inside the crew cabin and knock them out, it is faster than some AP, it has more explosive than APCR and AP but not as much as pure HE , and its speed is much faster than the HE, since it generally has less explosive (sometimes).

GM: Guided Missile
- I will use the T49 as an example, its missiles are MGM-51 Shillelagh 152mm / 15.2 centimeters.
Its speed is 250 m / s, it is slower than all since it must be used by the player to guide him with the mouse.
This is the most difficult to use, once the missile is fired to move your mouse until it hits the target, it is like a HEAT but very slow, but it does more damage than it. (sometimes)
5: Armor, Aiming and Game Techniques.
- Armor of the different tanks: to know how much armor your tank has, in the game menu where you select a tank from the list, look in the "window" on the upper right and there you will see a long list of specifications, scroll down to you see where it says "Armor" and click it.

Once you do, you will see that the tank has become "transparent" and has colors, these mean the following:

- Red: Very thick and / or angled, difficult to pierce (Example: Jadgtiger front)

- Yellow: Medium thick, can penetrate a good gun (Example: Jagdtiger sides)

- Lavender color: Intermittent armor, if I'm not mistaken it does not affect penetration except for the HEAT, I think it refers to the spaced armor.

When you touch a part of the tank, a small sign will appear that says:
- Target: the "literal" armor (not counting the addition by inclination) of the armor.
- Coefficient: I do not know what it means, but I am almost sure that it must be 1 that is physical and 2 that is not physical, it is something of development.
- Type: Armor type

P.S: Now with the new armor inspector it is the same, you can choose the caliber of the weapon and see if that would penetrate the armor or not.

Now I will teach you an efficient technique to cover you which is from WotB, I use that game in the photos since in Panzer War I have to put an enemy and I don't want to be shot while doing the "tutorial", as you see in the images.

Suppose where you are with the red square there is an enemy, you are at 73 HP and the enemy at 315 HP, your shots do between 120 and 155 damage and you need to win the game.

Position yourself as in the photo against a wall as fast as you can, and wait for your enemy to move, sure that the AI will shoot you even if it does not penetrate you.

This is an example of what your enemy can do, shoot you and bounce off your side, now you have your ammo loaded while your enemy begins to reload.

Go back, shoot your enemy, if your reload is fast, or you have a magazine, shoot until you think the enemy will finish reloading, or if you know it, synchronize to avoid a penetration.

I hope it has been helpful to you, I have translated everything into English as best I could, if you notice any errors in the translation (which surely there are) let me know.
