Steps

Go to your local steam folder. Copy Steam.dll.
(C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam)
Paste Steam.dll into your Jade Empire Folder. (C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Jade Empire)
This will fix the "Failed to Find Steam" issue.

If you are running windows 10, you may also have to rename JadeEmpireLauncher.exe to JadeEmpireLauncher_OLD.exe and also rename JadeEmpire.exe to JadeEmpireLauncher.exe. This will effectivly force steam to skip the launcher and go right to the core exe file.

yep, had to change the launcher names on Windows 11 as well

Also this works but makes my game comically unstable to the point it runs 10 fps

anyone getting the same problem as the guy below me, open the games directory and launch it through there instead of steam. if you did what the tutorial tells you it should run normally this way
