Editing the settings file
Playing Jgsw on stream with your audience is easy, and safe. The game's networking uses Steam relay servers, so your IP is never exposed to anyone, and you can ban problem users from the multiplayer menu. Using a shareable link anyone can connect to your game without having to add anyone to your friend list. Clicking a link will launch Jgsw and automatically connect to the game session. If the player doesn't already own Jgsw, it will take them to the store page. If Jgsw is running when the link is clicked it will not connect. Just close the game and click it again.

To get a shareable link open the saves and cache folder at the bottom of the settings menu
Edit the settings.json file, making sure Jgsw is not running. If the game is running, it will overwrite your changes on close.

Change the "hostPublic":false entry to "hostPublic":true

In the multiplayer menu there will now be a button to copy a shareable link to your clipboard

The link is unique per session and will look something like this: steam://run/1627610//+connect_lobby%20109775240938603891/
Unlisted controls
  • Hold Alt to see player names on their cursors
  • Click and hold middle mouse button to pan
  • Q and E will rotate a piece left and right
  • Change "flipRatio" in the settings file to a number between 0 and 1 to change what portion of pieces are created flipped upside down
  • You can safely delete any files in the saves/cache folder. The cache folder can get big if you download a lot of puzzle images.
