Unlike the epic Reagan-Gorbachev era released Balance of Power[www.mobygames.com] computer strategy game of geopolitics created by Chris Crawford and published in 1985, this game shows and is focussed on depicting big mushrooms!

The 1985 game was all about improving the player's superpower's standing in the world relative to the other superpower, where the player could choose to respond to random yearly world events in various ways, which could prompt a response from the other superpower.

This created brinkmanship situations between the two superpowers, potentially escalating to a nuclear war, which ended the game.

In short, a situation like the 2014 Ukraine coup would have invariably lead to a Mutual Assured Destruction (MAD), the U.S.A. having crossed the red line by committing a gross misjudgement, forcing the U.S.S.R. to show its resolve.

Increasing the player's influence over the bipolar world order was the core concept. The game was won when the map was all turned either blue or red, meaning when all nations were aligned with the leading superpower.

But in this ICBM vanilla game, the delusional multipolar world map can never change, whether through bribery, intimidation, assassination, coup, insurgency or direct military invasion.

Even by being the most advanced power, and by having neutralized all the adversaries' armies with conventional non-nuclear weapons, no victory can be achieved.

Basically, the scoring system is based on the number of nukes detonated and ensuing civilian body count. The game can in no way end outside of a global nuclear holocaust.

Because it is only triggered by the 100% level of anthropogenic pollution threshold.

With ICBM, the ending screen of Balance of Power warning that "We do not reward failure" when escalating to a nuclear war has been turned into Command and Conquer Red Alert's most infamous "destroy everything and everyone. No prisoners, no survivors.".




But, this MOD is aimed at fixing this, making it more like Balance of Power, with totally realistic outcomes that could be tomorrow's news headlines. No need to rush anymore, and less to engage in a futile self-defeating nuclear Armageddon.

Indeed, this means that the space-based orbital array of Directed Energy (DEW) satellites is the President Ronald Reagan's then envisioned Strategic Defense Initiative (SDI), also known as the Star Wars program, finally reborn.

This game-changer will from now onward frustrate all genocidal nuclear Apocalypse maniacs, while not prevent conventional wars.

Indeed, the game-changing space-based orbital array of Directed Energy (DEW) satellites using microwave can be effective against Ground, Naval, City, Airborne, Missile, Ballistic Missile, but not Underground, Satellite and Subwater units.

Completing the previous 2nd generation DEW space weapon system, it now allows to even conduct preemptive strike at both underground and submerged targets. In this regards, this counter-nuclear superweapon can be considered a true next level game-ender.


DEW SATELLITE ARRAYS MOD, an overhaul mod for ICBM, puts you in the position of one of the two superpowers of the world in the 2019-2049's time period.

It is the 3rd installment of the highly acclaimed historical modelization series "A century of mind-control warfare" dedicated to the development of the most secretive century-old directed energy weaponry.

This educational tool was initially planned to be released for Hearts of Iron II then Hearts of Iron IV as a trilogy.

This adaptation for ICBM is the first to be published, while awaiting the Paradox's team to finally polish its 2016 unfinished continuing beta versions.

The trilogy comprising the two new prequels that will follow:
