Voice chat has its place...DS really isnt it for me. This game is very well suited to in game gestures and the like. It keeps a much needed wall that adds to co op in my opinion. I can at least pretend the guy im helping isnt a doped up 14 year old who is swearing up a storm on the other end (worst case scenario). Ive never had trouble communicating if someone really wants to listen :)

Moms talking in the background, babies crying because you're a neglecting father, terrible music that is way too loud, can't understand what you're saying anyways, speaks in a foreign language, has an annoying voice/way of speaking, tries to boss me around, thinks I'm his best friend, won't shutup about things not game related.

If you want voice chat use a real chat program other then that dont tell me what to do, half the ppl play loud ass music half of it is gangster rap like wtf.

Nah, I learn the boss through getting summoned before fighting it in my own world first anyway, and I'm gonna understand it better through experience than through some random guy trying to explain stuff that I haven't seen yet and therefor wont know. If I want treasures, I have the internet, and if I want better strategies, I still have the internet. Random dude #245 isn't going to be as useful talking out the fight as a video that actually shows the fight.
