Firstly pick Sorceror as your class, this is because it starts with high intellect and soul arrow. You will want to get attunement to 16 fast as this increases spell casting speed. Once it is 16 you must get both intellect and faith up to 20. Intellect increases your spell damage with Sorceries/Pyromancy while faith increases damage/power of miracles. This is done because hex magic's damage is based of your lowest stat between the two.

Head to the Forest of Fallen Giants after the first area and grind for abit. Use the dagger to get easy kills to save soul arrows but use the spell if needed as it 2 shots everything early on. When you reach the white knight spam spells at him for easy souls.



Once you reach Merchant Hag Melentia at the 2nd bonfire buy your 2nd Soul Arrow spell, this will double the amount of times you can cast it without needing a bonfire to restore.

The last thing you need to do to be ready is get the Great Soul Arrow spell. This is found were the ballista trap is, the room on the right of that has the spell. Now you may kill the first boss in the area and even attempt the pursuer.




Next up go and kill Dragonrider in Heide's Tower of Flame and talk to Licia of Lindeldt, talk to her enough so she moves to Majula. Then go talk to her in the tunnel which leads to Heide and pay 2k souls to access a new path. Follow it till you can turn right and here will be Felkin the Outcast. If you followed my guide then you should have 20 intel and faith so he will sell hexes to you and give you hexxer armor plus a very powerful staff.



Now get attunement 25 and get Dark Orb from him and if you can afford it get Lightning Spear from Licia along with a chime for your other hand. From then on your options are to just play the game leveling up intel/faith and sometimes attunement, if you want fire magic go and kill the boss in No-Mans Warf as there is a pyromancy hand here.

Try to save Lightning Spears for bosses as its extremely strong.

Just remember your squishy so dodge constantly and dont take risks, if your invaded then blast the player with spells.

Late Game

You will want to get ahold of a few certain spells. Firstly get Dark Hail, this is gotten by buying it from Straid of Olaphis after unpetrifiying him near Sinner's Rise for 1500 souls, this spell fires several Dark Orbs and is very strong. You can also buy Affinity off him as this is also strong but it is slower so players can dodge it easier. Another spell you might want to get is Great Resonant Soul, this uses up your souls to fire a blast that is incredibly strong, this is gotten from Felkin for 3400 souls. A stronger version called Climax is gotten from the Pilgrims of Dark Covenant.

For Miracles you will want the Great Lightning Spear, this is gotten from Straid after clearing the Undead Crypt section so this is quite late game but it is very strong.

If your using Pyromancy then you will want to get Great Fireball from the Salamanders in the Giants Forest, They are strong but just keep killing them, you can also get fire orb here too. If your a PVPer then you can skip this and just pvp to get Great Chaos Fireball, this is extremely strong and requires you to kill alot of players to get it from the Brotherhood of Blood covenant. For pvp you can also get Great Combustion and Fire Whip for those pesky melee characters, these are short ranged but strong fire spells. Flame Swathe from Straid is quite strong too but expensive being 9500 souls.

For Sorceries you will want Great Heavy Soul Arrow from Carhillion of the Fold, he is found in No-Man's Warf near the boss fight ship on a side platform. If you want a even stronger version of this then trade your Ruin Sentinel Soul with Straid for the Heavy Homing Soul Arrow. Pick up Soul Spear Barrage too from Carhillion as this is a good spell too. This will last you until you get Homing Soul Mass from Ornifex When you meet her in the Shaded Woods. The last two spells you want are Soul Spear in the Undead Crypt but do not approach him with a torch as he will turn hostile instantly. The final spell is Soul Shower, this is gotten by trading your Soul of Scorpioness Najka with Straid.

When you enter Stranded Woods, after killing the giant basilisk you should use a fragrent branch of yore on the nearby lion warrior to get to the chest as it contains the Lion Mage set, replace your hexxer stuff with this but keep the hood.

Now what you need is Dragon Chime, you get this from Darkdiver Grandahl found in Shaded Woods, Black Gulch and Drangleic Castle. Id advise doing the covenant as its a reward for finishing them or you can kill him for it. Then infuse it with lightning at Mcduff to make a very strong lightning spear chime :)

Now really just experiment with the spells you have gained and use what you feel is best for you, just remember to keep leveling up Intel and Faith together to keep the damage up.
