About this guide
This objective of this guide is to give you a very fast run down to get into the game without spending more than 5 minutes reading or watching youtube.
How do you win a game, and when does it end?
You win the game by getting most Victory Points (VPs).

The game ends when ANY two stacks BLUE cards (maids) or GREEN cards (chief maids) have ran out. Your VP is calculated against potential reductions and bonuses.

Maids can be sent into your "private quarters" to build victory points, however they will no longer be available from your draw pool once you do that. Some cards can provide you VPs without going into your private quarter.

Symbols and sequence of the game
Symbols basics
MASON THE SYMBOLS WHAT DO THEY MEAN?

On your right hand - Player indicator

Numbers on the cards

Top left - Cost to purchase in LOVE points
Heart + indicates the amount of LOVE this card generates when you play it from your hand
Finger + indicates the amount of SERVING this card generates when you play it from your hand
Love and cards + indicates the amount of EMPLOYMENT this card generates when you play it from your hand
Card + indicates the amount of extra cards you will draw when you play it from your hand.
Bottom = Cards of this type available for purchase
Bottom right VPs = The amount of VP this card can provide to you

So if you were to play this card, you get 1 LOVE, and you get another SERVING back, plus one EMPLOYMENT and one new DRAW (Draw a card). Which means you can play another one of the same card and keep going infinitely as playing a card costs 1 SERVING, but this card gives you 1 SERVING back.

Flow of the game
You may play any of the maids (blue cards) you have first, those maids will generate LOVE, SERVING, EMPLOYMENT, and sometimes allow you to DRAW. You continue to play your maids until your SERVING runs out. Your default serving is 1. Certain cards can increase your serving.

(Hence why the green maid chief which costs -2 SERVING cannot be played until you have a BLACK or BLUE card that generates +2 SERVING.)

Once you have played all of your maids from your hand, you can play all of your LOVE cards (Pink). Love cards doesn't do anything except giving you final boost of purchasing power.

Once you have played all of your BLUE and PINK cards, you can buy new cards, limited by your LOVE and EMPLOYMENT points.

If you have 8 LOVE and 1 EMPLOYMENT, you can buy ONE card that costs 8 LOVE or less.
If you have 8 LOVE and 2 EMPLOYMENT, you can buy TWO cards that cost totalling 8 LOVE or less
If you have 8 LOVE and 3 EMPLOYMENT, you can buy THREE cards that cost totalling 8 LOVE or less

Turn is then ended after you have purchased the cards you want from the field.

Card types

PINK = Love cards, they are added to your deck for you to draw pool. You only have +1s by default.
BLACK = Private maids, added to your hand and private quarter immediately on purchase
BLUE = Genera maids, added to your draw pool on purchase. Most need to be added to your private quarter to generate points. Once they are in your private quarter they dont appear in your draws.
GREEN = Chiefs. The -2 ones go to your draw pool and will need to be added to your private quarter to have visible effects. The +6 VP ones doesn't do anything, except giving you VPs without going into your private quarter.
PURPLE = Events. Basically cards that screwing other players up.

This guide will not go into tactics, it's just to show you what the basics are so you are not confused.

Thank you for this, this helps, I didn't get the private quarters thing at all. Funny enough I was having trouble with this game until I played through the tutorial for the card game Dominion, which is very similar, and then it clicked for me.
