If you have gotten the error message that pops up a resolution then a file missing reading rendd3d then go to the local files right click the .exe and click properties.

Go to Compatibility
Compatibility Mode
Run this program in compatibility mode
Choose windows 7
Then go back to Compatibility
Go to settings in Compatibility
Click run in 640x480 screen resolution
Click Apply

That's what it took for me to run the game. Hope this helps.

Hmm. I'm not sure. give me a bit and I'll uninstall and reinstall to see what's what. Sounds like you had a bad install somehow.
