Timeshift - Chaak's Portal Maze

Description

This is an ancient underground Maya complex, saturated with atmosphere of the Second Encounter first levels. Duration is about 30 minutes. Gameplay is designed for an experienced player ready for surprises.

The map was completed in just 18 days as part of Mapper Challenge at Serious Site in June 2017. All mistakes learned during the creation of my previous map allowed me to make a decent map in every sense, although not without flaws in the balance and uncritical frame rate drops in a couple of places. Map structure is built around the main challenge conditions: at least 3 portals on the entire map and presence of a transport mechanisms. Player will make a long descent down, where he will be forced to face old ancient portal technology, and of course the hordes of Mental's henchmen. An atmosphere of ancient ruins and a lava lake included.
