Introduction
Hello and welcome to the ultimate guide for Villagers and Heroes! This guide will include some simple tips and tricks that will enable players to have a better experience while playing the game.

This guide will start out small - I am building off of my (albeit small) own experience with the game and I will be using the help of my fellow players to expand upon the concepts within the guide. If you know of a great tip, put it in the comments and I'll whack it into the body of the guide along with your name (if you so choose)!
General Control Tips
First off, disable click to move in the options menu.

Nothing is more annoying than accidently moving to the other side of the river right into a pack of bloodthirsty wolves, trust me. Of course, if you absolutely have to use the mouse to move, then disregard this. But seriously, disable it.

Then, if it's not enabled already, turn on auto-gather.

Auto-Gather is a positive. There's simply no other way to put it. Auto-Gather takes items that you gather from a resource node, waits a few seconds and puts them in your inventory. This way you can simply open a video in another window and just click once you see the bar is filled up. Easy as pie.

One more thing - if you're going for a specific material then gather from nodes that are one or two levels higher than the level of said material. For example, I would gather from Level 10 ore nodes if I wanted Gleaming Tin Ore.
Quality of Life Tips
Every once in a while, check your Achievement menu.

Achievements give you gold and XP rewards for doing relatively simple tasks - catching a fish, joining a guild, mining each of the low-level ores, etc. Some are much harder - reaching level 70 in all gathering skills, having a friend, getting all the bounties in a high level area, etc. Once you have achieved said achievement, you can claim your rewards. It's always a good idea to check in and see if there's a couple of thousand gold waiting to be collected.

The Knowledge button is one of the best tools you can use in the game.

In the Knowledge tab you can look at every concept introduced to you throughout the game. You can see how many times you've crafted/gathered an item, what it takes to craft an item in terms of level and resources and even what level resource node gives you that item when used. It's really indispensable - most of the questions you'd normally ask in chat can be answered in the knowledge book.
Travel Stone Tips
This may seem apparent for some, but you don't need your travel stones in your inventory to travel somewhere. Just whack them into storage (Vault, house storage, etc) and you can use the map to fast travel as you normally would. DISREGARD THIS. This is not true.

In case you've used all your travel stones trying to get yourself unstuck from buggy geometry (thankyou Based Otter) then you can purchase some with gold at a HIGHLY inflated price. Believe me when I say that you'll probably only use the vendor at end-game, because a travel stone will run you 100,000,- gold.

Just talk to Bugsy the Black Market Vendor, near the Vault next to the Blacksmithy in Ardent City. He also sells Talent Respec potions, 10x Gathering Boosts and some energy boosts, so check out his stock just in case you need something.

Chat Commands
Most of these are from the other guide, but I wanted to put them in a proper Guide seeing as it's more convenient than to follow the link. Will expand if people provide more.

/w [player name] [message]
Sends a message to said player. If the player's name is two words, you must put quotes around them e.g. "Gerald Geraldson"

/r [message]
Responds to the last received whisper.

/unstick
Jumps your character two metres into the air. Useful for getting unstuck from buggy geometry (thankyou Based Otter).

/suicide
Take a wild guess at what this does. Uses include dying.

/roll [number of die] [sides on die]
What it says on the tin. /roll 1 20 will roll a d20 will perform a hit check and /roll 1 6 will give you damage. Crap, wrong game.

/gform [guild name]
Forms a guild. You need at least 3 people in your party to accept the invite that gets sent out.

/gleave
Gives you Godmode. Or removes you from the guild. I can't remember. Writing hard.

Sorry, might want to tell new players the difference between wild / natural resources and ones you run through the village nodes. SInce most new players will join a guild, see those resources in the vault and grab 200 wild ones instead of just 20 to use in restock station.
Each wild / natural resource you gather in game, 20, you can go back to your village and change into 200 of the same item village.

You can leave your travel stones in your vault if you have the option to use them selected in your settings. So that part is still true, assuming you activate it.

/gleave does indeed remove you from your current guild.
If someone offers you a guild invite and you accept you do not need to leave the old one first.

I would like to see a section on how to use motes of yorick to produce/craft more then 1 item at a time. Since that is about 60% of the game or more depending on how you play.
Probably a section on how to actually craft here would also be helpful for new players.
As a final point, how to join / leave groups since most new players want to play together and have not joined a guild or a village yet.

Also might want to consider disabling the auto gather.
Reason for that is it does not pick up the repair gobles that fall so our gather tool never gets fixed, causing it to eventually break and you having to replace them.

The black market price from the vendor for a single travel stone is now only 5 gold, only ha ha.
If you want you can update this guide.

do you have to decide between playing a hero or craftsmen on any one character? can you learn all the crafting/gathering skills on one character?
