Prolog

Hello all togther !

First of all ... many thanks to Feindbild for letting me use his awesome New York subway station
in that way !!! Thanks a lot ! :)
This station, or the building in particular, was always my favorite subway station in the game !
Well and I thought that it would be a great idea to "re-use" it for my metro entrances.

Here is the result.
Its basically the same entrance as the first one of the already uploaded 4 entrances. I only removed the ticket machines and time tables and put Feindbild´s building on top of the stairway. :)

In general, this is an "entrance - building" to connect my metro stations or any underground pathway, to the surface. You wont need them to use the metro stations, they´re just an additon.

It could also work as an "underground connector- buidling" without
a connection to the metro stations. At least in my city the cims used them. :)

Dependencies

  • pathway (needed for this to work!!)
  • station lights (very light)
  • custom effects loader - mod (otherwise the lights wont light up)

Usage

These buidlings can be placed anywhere, BUT they´ll need a road connection.
After that connect the attached pedestrian path to your network. Thats it.

You can shorten the ped path, which comes with the building, via move it.
Hold the alt key while grabing the node. But be cautious with that !

Issues / Walkarrounds
If you encounter a "netinfo missing - error" then you forgot
to subscribe to the pathways. As mentioned before, the buildings wont load then.


  • Due to the somewhat finicky ped connections in this game, I suggest to move
    the bulildings with caution !
  • I also suggest to place them a bit away from the street. Otherwise the cims
    might "jump" out of the building.
  • ... and try to avoid to place them next to a corner. This also might
    cause your cims to move in weird ways.

I cant change anything about some "weird" walking behaviors of your cims... the game
works that way. You can avoid that by folloing my tips. ;)

Issues / Walkarrounds
It could be the case that the game "says" - distance to short. I had that while
I was testing this station ... but I still was able to place it.

BUT I still recommend to use an anarchy mod, for example: Fine Road Anarhcy 2 by Klyte 45

This building uses the same textures as well as lod materials as the first
4 versions.
All these will be shared via LSM and that saves you some RAM.
(of course plus an additional set for Feindbilds building)

The main textures of the bulding is already used in other buildings.
For example the condo #01 building, metro/tram/hub etc.

I also suggest to take a look at these two already released metro stations, which are designed to
be used with this kind of "entry building(s)".

@skallben Thanks ! :) regarding your question ... I don't think that smthg like that is possible, due to the way how paths/streets etc work in the game. But I'll take a look in to that anyway ... Maybe there's a walkarround.

This one is brilliant as all your other assets. I wonder if it's possible to make metro entrances to the pedestrian tunnels for hillside terrain that doesnt have to go stairs down, but rather straight into a tunnel.

@mojoreef, I wish I could say the same. I always end up with extra Gigs on my machine every visit. I have 64G but i just ordered more memory I will now have 256G! Bring on the workshop baby.
