The Map

W4RR-i/o-RS: Descent consists of 9 levels called "circles" that are thematically similar to the layout of hell in Dante's Inferno.

- Each circle has locations (represented by a '0') connected by dots that can be either an enemy encounter or a Soul Vault containing items. Rarely, an enemy encounter can replaced by a special, stronger enemy that will randomly drop 1 of 4 special relic items.

- Red '0' locations are the only locations you can currently select. Explore red locations to open up more locations. Green '0' locations are the ones you have already cleared.

- Clear all locations to complete a circle, be shown a story bit, and move on to the next circle.
Fight!

- An encounter is your 8 warriors versus 1 enemy.
- Each warrior & enemy's name is a string of random letters/numbers/symbols that doubles as a
health bar.
-Each warrior has a max health of 8, enemies usually have *lots* more.

- Under each warrior's name/health are their stats ("Ptntial", "Luck", "Exp"), and their battle
commands which are [Fight] or [Use Skill].

- On the right side of the screen are your battle options;
[All Fight] ~ Selects the [Fight] command for all of your warriors.
[All Skill] ~ Selects the [Skill] command for all of your warriors.
[Battle] ~ Confirms all 8 selected warrior commands and resolves a round of combat.
[Items] ~ Opens the item screen allowing you to use items between rounds of combat.
[Escape] ~ Leave current encounter.

- You can individually select each warrior to use either their [Fight] or [Skill] command to customize your combat for certain situations, or select one of the [All...] commands for general situations.

- A round of combat is decided by potential power output (Ptntial)...whoever has the greater
number, wins, and reduces the enemy's or warriors name/health by 1 (or more).
Example: An enemy has a power output of 500. If you roll a 524, you will win the round of
combat and damage the enemy for 1 letter/number of their health/name. If you roll a 499, they
will damage 1 (or more!) of your warriors for 1 health. This continues round by round until the
encounter is over.

-Total power output ("Expected power output") seems to be an average of the total Ptntial of your warriors + Luck & Exp (although I'm not great at math so I don't know exactly how Luck & Exp influence Ptntial, other than more is better...)

Class and Skills
- The color of a warriors name determines their class, each class has their own unique skill (except white).
~WHITE: Nothing.

~BLUE: [Shield] "Next 1 damage to the team will be prevented" ~ Blue is your defender. If you
choose to use his skill during a round of combat, blue will negate 1 damage from the enemy
(example; if you were going to take 4 damage, you would only take 3. If you had three
BLUE's and were using their skill, you would only take 1 damage.).

~LIGHT BLUE (TEAL/AQUA): [Ptnt-] "Enemy's potential will be decreased by 5" ~ Very useful for
reducing strong enemies power output so you can more easily defeat
them.

~GREEN: [Heal] "Shortest name will gain a letter." ~ Heals you. Extremely important to have at
least 1 or more of this class

~RED: [Burn] "Enemy will receive 1 damage" ~ Stacks with multiple RED's.

~PURPLE: [Luck-] "Enemy's luck will be reduced by 10." ~ Can be useful for weakening strong
enemies, I'm unsure of the exact effect of luck on potential/power output, though.

~YELLOW: [Exp-] "Enemy's experience will be decreased by 5." ~ Can be useful for weakening
strong enemies, I'm unsure of the exact effect of experience on potential/power output,
though.
Items & Relics
ITEMS:
- Items are found in Soul Vaults, or sometimes dropped by defeated enemies.

- DarkSoul: "Reassemble a dead warrior" ~ If one of your warriors are defeated, this will replace
them, but with starting stats.
- AquaSoul: "Reveal the enemy's stats" ~ Will show you an enemy's Ptntial, Luck, and Exp.
- AirSoul: "Recover a Warrior for full health" ~ Restores a warrior to max health, use when they're
down to 1 health for maximum benefit (and try to save them to the end! You'll need them!!).
- SpiritSoul: "Add 20 pts to a Warrior's potential" ~ I see no reason to hold on to these, use them as
soon as you get them to make your team stronger.
- FireSoul: "Deal 3 damage to the enemy" ~ Awesome item, save for super strong enemies that you
may not beat otherwise.
- MindSoul: "Add 30 pts to a Warrior's luck" ~ Another item no use hoarding, go ahead and use it to
make someone stronger.
- BodySoul: "Add 20 pts to a Warrior's exp" ~ Again, use it as soon as you get it.
- LightSoul: "Recolor a Warrior randomly, changing their skill" ~ Critically important item. Always
upgrade your WHITE warriors to anything else *FIRST*, then use extra LightSouls to
customize your team to whatever you want.

RELICS:
- Relics are found after defeating a rare encounter that randomly replaces a normal encounter. These rare encounters are not guaranteed to even happen at all during a run, and can possibly happen up to 4 times.

- Once acquired, relics are always passively active, and can be viewed on the item screen.

- " t " : TrueCross: "Enemy's critical strike chance is halved."
- " 1 " : DestinySpear: "Enemy is damaged every turn regardless of the battle outcome."
- " x " : ThornCrown: "10% chance for a Warrior to heal themselves after a damage."
- " Y " : HolyGrail: "10% chance to apply a Warrior's skill an additional time."
Conclusion
I hope this quick guide helps someone get over the initial confusion of this game and enjoy it as much as I do. Good luck!
