Once you reach Ashina Castle the game opens up to several locations you can visit in any order, however I recommend Sunken Valley > Ashina Depths > Senpou Temple, Mt. Kongo to keep the backtracking to an absolute minimum.

ET01 - Shinobi & ET02 - Prosthetic
Speak to the Sculptor after getting one skill point and three prosthetic tools respectively.

It is basically impossible to miss these two if you care about collecting items, I state them here just for the sake of consistency.

PT01 - Loaded Shuriken.
Grab Shuriken Wheel inside the hole in the wall.


GS01 - Gourd Seed & PB01 - Prayer Bead.
Kill General Naomori Kawarada.


PT02 - Shinobi Firecracker.
Purchase Robert's Firecrackers from Crow's Bed Memorial Mob for 500 Sen.


KI01 - Young Lord's Bell Charm.
Talk to the Old Woman.


UM01 - Phantom Kunai.
Purchase from Anayama the Peddler for 3,000 Sen.

You need to have purchased information from him for a total of 30 Sen and reload his area.

Kill Chained Ogre.

Take a left inside the hole in the wall that is behind Chained Ogre.

Inside a chest on a hole on the ceiling of the building where Tengu of Ashina is.


ET03 - Ashina.
Fulfill Tengu of Ashina's request to kill rats.

Go back to the Ashina Castle Gate Sculptor's Idol and make your way up to where you find your first enemy, grapple to the right and kill the three rats that are hanging out next to the trees.

Drop inside the hole in the roof below the Sculptor's Idol.

ET04 - Mushin.
Talk to Tengu of Ashina after you have gotten the final skill of any skill tree.

You need to have completed Ashina Castle bydefeating Genichiro (rewards you with a Ninjutsu Technique) and talking to Ishhin Ashinafor him to spawn here so backtracking can't be avoided.

KI05 - Masked Fragment: Dragon & PB12 Prayer Bead.
Purchase from Dungeon Memorial Mob for 5,000 Sen and 1,400 Sen respectively.


PB13 - Prayer Bead.
Kill Lone Shadow Longswordsman.

He is on the hole where you start the game.

PB14 - Prayer Bead.
Kill Seven Ashina Spears - Shikibu Toshikatsu Yamauchi.

PB15 - Prayer Bead.
Loot the first item you see there in the open.

Take a left of the Sculptor's Idol to where you can see icicles, continue past the two enemies to an open area that prompts "Ashina Outskirts".

GS06 - Gourd Seed.
Grab the item outside a small hut.

There is a ledge on the right of the item you can see from the Sculptor's Idol that has an enemy on it, take it and grapple on two branches on the left side, climb up to the left of where a second enemy is. Kill a third, grapple, kill a fourth and climb up behind his corpse.

PB16 - Prayer Bead.
Kill Snake Eyes Shirafuji.


PB17 - Prayer Bead.
Kill Long-arm Centipede Giraffe.

Across the bridge from the Sculptor's Idol.

PT09 - Divine Abduction.
Grab the Large Fan.

Right behind Long-arm Centipede Giraffe.

PB18 - Prayer Bead.
Grab the item in the middle of the dark area.

Take the hole on the left of Giraffe, once you reach a ledge look above and grapple to the right path and then again to the right above you to a ledge below orange lit log. Drop down and expect an ambush.

PT10 - Finger Whistle.
Get Slender Finger by killing theGuardian Ape.

PB19 - Prayer Bead.
Kill Snake Eyes Shirahagi.


P20 - Prayer Bead.
Loot the item.

On the tunnel behind Shirahagi grapple to the left on the ledge, after your first crouch jump to the left again and wall jump, then grapple on top of the statue's head.

PB21 - Prayer Bead & PB22 - Prayer Bead & NT01 - Bestowal.
Kill the headless Guardian Ape.

Instead of grappling behind Shirahagi, drop down and continue the cave path.
You need to have killed the Guardian Ape in the Sunken Valley Passage.

UM02 - Malcontent's Ring.
Kill Shichimen Warrior.

Return to the headless Guardian Ape fight area after you finish Ashina Depths completely.
Make sure you killed the headless properly (aka: Its corpse is not there anymore after you delivered a deathblow to the centipede), then go back to Dilapidated Temple to purchase Valley Apparitions Memo for 800 Sen from Fujioka the Info Broker.

PB23 - Prayer Bead.
Kill Tokujiro the Glutton.

Continue from the Sculptor's Idol until you reach the fire in front of the golden statue, walk to the ledge that is above Wolf's left shoulder on the screenshot and descend on the tree branch that connects to the opening, you will have to hug a blue wall to pass a ledge, after which you will see Tokujiro to your left.

GS07 - Gourd Seed.
Loot the item.

Next to the big tree with candles and white sakura petals.

PB24 - Prayer Bead.
On a chest underwater in the village's lake.

Right below the two boats on the right side. You need to unlock the Mibu Breathing Technique by killing the last boss of Ashina Depths in order to get this one so backtracking can't be avoided for this one.

UM03 - Pine Resin Ember.
Item on top of the house in the ravine.

Get back to land behind the two boats where we dived for the previous Prayer Bead and continue your path to the left until you see a lonely house at the end of a ravine.

PB25 - Prayer Bead.
Kill O'Rin of the Water.


PB26 - Prayer Bead.
On a shrine hidden on the house on the hill.

You will need to get inside by crouching to the right of Wolf on the screenshot and then Grapple to the attic after you leave the house through the side.

GS08 - Gourd Seed.
In front of the mummified monk.

Second floor of the large temple.

PB27 - Prayer Bead.
Kill Armored Warrior.


PB28 - Prayer Bead.
Kill Long-arm Centipede Sen'un.


PB29 - Prayer Bead & KI06 - Holy Chapter: Infested.
Dive underwater on the lake seen from the Sculptor's Statue.The Holy Chapter should be below you while the Bead will be on a small cave in front of a Budha Statue.

You need to unlock the Mibu Breathing Technique by killing the last boss of Ashina Depths in order to get these.

ET05 - Senpou.
Inside a shrine on a cliff.

Exit the building through the left side and enter the cave to the right, continue the path until you jump down a ledge, look behind you and crouch through the water path then climb until you eventually get out of the cave and you see the shrine.

Grats on finishing the game! I'm kidding of course, we still got some ground to cover.

It is at this point however that we can start working on the ending we want to get out of the 4 possible endings.

• Shura.
  
• Immortal Severance.
  
• Purification.
  
• Return.

Aside from Shura, no ending will lock you out of the rest so I suggest you prepare the Purification ending regardless of your choice since it grants access to another area that has some of our Prayer Beads.

If you do not want to play the game 4 times and do not mind the vaguely meaningful meaninglessness of "videogame ethics" then you only need to back your save up twice.

1. Back your save before the Shura ending Boss Fight.
   
2. Hate yourself for trying to get the Shura Ending on your first run of the game.
   
3. Reload your backed save.
   
4. Continue the game normally with the guide to complete all other ending requirements.
   
5. Back your save before the final boss.
   
6. Choose your ending after beating the boss.
   
7. Reload your backed save.

After you gather every item that Lord Kuro requested you will notice that all Travel options for Ashina Castle are locked, this means it is ready for our revisit.

PB30 - Prayer Bead.
Kill Chained Ogre.

On the room right before the chest where Sabimaru was.

PB31 - Prayer Bead.
Kill Lone Shadow Vilehand.

On the room right in front of the Sculptor's Idol where Jinsuke Saze was.

PB32 - Prayer Bead.
Kill Lone Shadow Masanaga the Spear-Bearer.

He is on the Great Serpent Shrine right next to the Sculptor's Idol.

Choose: Obey the Iron Code, forsake Kuro.

We are assuming you have just finished the fight after refusing the Shura Ending in Ashina Castle.

Rest on the Sculptor's Idol to make Emma appear.
Go to the side of the room opposite to the Sculptor's Idol where an item is, eavesdrop the conversation.

Rest on the Castle Tower Lookout Sculptor's Idol., Emma will have moved there.
Talk to Emma and choose:I agree. Kuro cannot be allowed to die.
Rest and talk to Emma again, you wil receiveTomoe's Note.


Take a left from the Sculptor's Idol and talk to Emma.


Go behind the temple and eavesdrop on Emma and the Sculptor.
Exhaust Emma's dialogue and choose:Ask about what you overheard.
ChooseAsk what she is hiding. She will give youFather's Bell Charm.
Pray to the statue to the left of Emma, this will warp you to Hirata Estate right in front of a burning building.


Continue to that area's section of this guide for the next steps.

This revisit can only be done as part of the Purification ending.
Note that you need to have defeatedLady Butterflyin the original Hirata Estate in order to advance to this new version.

PB33 - Prayer Bead.
Kill Lone Shadow Masanaga the Spear-Bearer.

He is in the burning building where you found Owl in the original Hirata Estate.

PB34 - Prayer Bead.
Kill Juzou the Drunkard... again?

He is in the same location as last time.

Kill Owl (Father). You will receive an Aromatic Flower
.
We are done with the requirements for this ending.

This is the secret, longest to prepare and best ending in the game. Obviously you have rejected the Shura ending in Ashina Castle to reach this point.

Get Rice, consume it, travel anywhere, return, repeat for a total of 3 Rice.
On a fourth visit she will request for Persimmon.


Grapple past the ledge to your left to reach the merchant, purchase Persimmon for 30 Sen.


Give her the Persimmon, you will receive Rice for Kuro.


Give Rice to Kuro.

Teleport anywhere and return to Kuro to receive a Sweet Rice Ball.

Consume the Sweet Rice Ball.


Talk to the Divine Child again.

Give her the Holy Chapter: Infested that we got back in Senpou Temple, Mt. Kongo at the Shugendo Sculptor's Idol.

Travel anywhere and return, she will be gone, go to the light behind you to reach the Halls of Illusion again and talk to her there.


Exit the building through the left side and enter the cave to the right, continue the path until you jump down a ledge, look behind you and crouch through the water path then climb until you see the Holy Chapter: Dragon's Return in front of a corpse.


Give her the Holy Chapter.


Get out of the room and drop down the right side and go past the bridge to where the trees are, use the Puppeteer Ninjutsu on the rat that is close to the kite.

You get this unskippable Ninjutsu Technique by defeating the last boss of Senpou Temple, Mt. Kongo.

Make it past the temple where you got the Gourd Seed, hop on the giant tree and grapple through the kite.


Jump to the right and grapple through the branches until you reach a cave entrance.


Keep going and you will reach Sunken Valley Passage, now drop down from the log of wood and kill the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ to get Fresh Serpent Viscera.


Jump to the opposite side of where you fought the Guardian Ape and hug the right side until you make it to a cave entrance past the Toxic Memorial Mob.


Right before the deepest point in the cave take a left and use the Puppeteer Ninjutsu on a cowering monkey, while the snake is distracted grapple into the temple to grab the Dried Serpent Viscera.


Give Persimmons of the Serpent.


Travel anywhere and return to eavesdrop on the closed door.


Exhaust Kuro's dialogue.


Get Frozen Tears from the Divine Child.


We are done with the requirements for this ending.

PB35 - Prayer Bead.
Kill Sakura Bull of the Palace.

Take a left from the Sculptor's Idol on the slightly sunk path around the building you crossed to reach this area.

PB36 - Prayer Bead.
Kill Okami Leader Shizu.

He is the bastard that has been shooting lightning at you from a huge tree branch. Grapple across the broken bridge from the Sculptor's Idol and make your way around to reach him. The Great Sakura Sculptor's Idol is right before him.

PB37 - Prayer Bead.
Inside a chest next to a giant fish skeleton.

Jump into the water to the right of the Sculptor's Idol and dive. It is roughly above Wolf's Sword on the bottom of the lake. A bit deeper from where you fought the Headless.

GS09 - Gourd Seed.
Inside chest on the dark building to your right.


LL01 - Lapiz Lazuli.
Kill the Shichimen Warrior.

Open the big door on the dark building that had the Gourd Seed, then drop down to the left side.

KI07 - Masked Fragment: Left & LL02 - 2 Lapiz Lazuli.
Purchase from Pot Noble Koremori for Treasure Carp Scales, 12 for the mask and 6 for each Lapiz Lazuli.

Get past the gate we opened for the Lapiz Lazuli but take a right instead, past the waterfall below the Sakura Tree, you will be able to grapple to the branch seen above Wolf's shoulder on the screenshot, continue this path to grapple on top of a building, to the right of this building there will be a Sculptor's Idol and right next to it you will find our merchant.

KI08 - Truly Precious Bait
Spend at least 7 Treasure Carp Scales on the Pot Noble Koremori's shop and talk to him until you can choose: Listen to his secret.


LL03 - Lapiz Lazuli.
Open the door to the left of the chest that had the Gourd Seed and take a left after leaving the building, grapple on the branch on the roof and grapple once more to a tree on the other side of the roof, continue through this left area until you reach a bell beyond the Feeding Grounds Sculptor's Idol. Ring the bell and choose: Select Truly Precious Bait and Pot Noble Koremori's Bait.
Travel to the Guardian Ape's Watering Hole Sculptor's Idol and collect the Great White Whisker.
Travel to the Near Pot Noble Sculptor's Idol and collect your reward where Koremori was.


Kill the Divine Dragon to get the Divine Dragon’s Tears.

It is basically impossible to fail at fulfilling this requirement.

We are done with the requirements for this ending.

After you kill the last boss in Fountainhead Palace you will warp automatically to Upper Tower - Kuro's Room and the area will have changed for the last time.

PB38 - Prayer Bead.
Kill Ashina Elite - Ujinari Mizuo.

Take the exit to the right and down the stairs, then turn left and break the doors, go downstairs once more to reach the fight.

PB39 - Prayer Bead.
Kill Seven Ashina Spears - Shume Masaji Oniwa.

Next to the burning gates.

You can reach this location from a new bridge that can be seen from the Old Grave Sculptor's Idol.

PB40 - Prayer Bead.
Kill Shigekichi of the Red Guard.

Make your way to the Outskirts Wall - Stairway Sculptor's Idol, you will find him in the same area where you fought General Tenzen Yamauchi.

SB01 - Secret Boss & LL04 - 2 Lapiz Lazuli.
Kill Demon of Hatred after which you are rewarded with the two Lapiz Lazuli.

Make your way to the Outskirts Wall - Stairway Sculptor's Idol, right before you reach it the area where you fought General Naomori Kawarada will be on flames and there will be a new Sculptor Idol at the end of it, touch it and it will take you toFlames of Hatred where you can fight him.

Before we go finish the game let's do a quick cleanup while we are on the subject of bosses.

These all require the skill to dive underwater, share a theme and would've been too obnoxious to fit elsewhere.

Kill Headless.

Take a right from the area where Shigekichi of the Red Guard was, grapple past the small shrine and continue your descent until you reach a cave entrance.
Rewards: Ako's Spiritfall.

Kill Headless.

Take a left and continue past the point where you found the Prayer Bead (PB15), dive underwater
Rewards: Gokan's Spiritfall.

Kill Headless.

Make it through the trees to the bonefire, drop down to the left.
Rewards: Gachiin's Spiritfall.

Kill Headless.

On your way to the Great Serpent Shrine Sculptor's Idol you will find a bridge and a small lake, dive underwater.
Rewards: Ungo's Spiritfall.

Kill Headless.

This is the headless you found when getting the Prayer Bead on the chest underwater (PB37). Comes with a free ghost.
Rewards: Yashariku's Spiritfall.

Kill Shichimen Warrior.

To the left of the Sculptor's Idol.
Rewards: Ceremonial Tanto.

This is the last stretch of the game, no matter which ending you have been chasing, all of them need you to fight the last boss and thengoing back to Kuro to "Kneel before Divine Heir"
