How to use the LZ Answerer

The LZ Answerer is a melee weapon, it can be unlocked after beating all The Mercenaries stages with at least an SS rank and buying it via the Extra Content Shop for 70,000 CP. It will then be available at The Duke for 200 Lei and can be sold back for the same price. Even though the weapon is unlocked via The Mercenaries, it cannot be used in that mode. This guide explains how to use the weapon in the campaign of Resident Evil Village.

Gameplay

The LZ Answerer must be "activated" before the player can strike at enemies, it activates by either holding the aim button or pushing the attack button. Once this is done, the LZ Answerer will act like the default Knife where it shares the same attack animations.

By holding the aim button further, the player can activate its double blade mode. During this mode the weapon will instead share the same attack animations as the Karambit Knife, with the exception of the "hold aim" attack. This double blade mode will deactivate itself once weapons are switched or the color of the blade is changed.

While it deals the most damage of any melee weapon, it is still not an exceptionally powerful weapon. On Standard difficulty, it will still take a few hits to kill lesser enemies such as a Lycan regardless of weapon mode. However, it is the best option for completing the Knives Out challenge since it is considered a close-combat weapon. It can also be useful for completing the Don't Trust That Snake Oil challenge as its healing ability does not count as a recovery item.

What the different colours do

It's possible to change the color of the weapon by holding the aim button and pushing the interact button. There are three colors: red (default), blue and green. When attacking, sparks will come out of the weapon, these will also change color.

Each color will slightly alter the way the weapon functions. The red mode will deal the most damage, while green will deal the least. However, the green mode will recover health with each successful hit, damaging the inactive Soldats and any animal will also heal the player. Blue: This is a defensive ability, as it reduces the damage taken while blocking to practically zero - Credits to Madara Uchiha for pointing this out to me! (:

Final Notes

- LZ Answerer is a spoof to the lightsaber from the Star Wars franchise.

- It shares the same 3D model as the Target Locator.

- During the Miranda boss phase where everything turns black and white, the color of the weapon will change to white as well. This has no effect gameplay-wise.

Sykomancer the stages you HAVE to get the SS+ rankings on are only the 4 standard and hard modes of the maps and you can do it with just a character

I'd like some confirmation on unlocking this weapon. Does every level in Mercenaries, including the hard stages, need SS ratings? Or is it SS with every character on the default difficulty?

I wish they would put some kind of info on the HUD as for which mode you're on cuz I'm partially colorblind and it made switching the modes kind of a pain in the ass.

i wish i read that before i did the knife out challenge.
i used only the blue beacuse it looked cool but i needed to use the red one insted.

oml the parry works even when the blue blade is sheathed meaning if you set it to to blue and swap to a gun you can swap back and instantly parry

bro i cannot believe i just found this considering the amount of runs i did on xbox but while using the blue blade you can actually parry incoming attacks if you block last moment

Obviously i dont know whether or not its actually true since i personally dont have the LZ answerer yet, but i perhaps you could try it out and update the guide afterwards?
