Description

Some creatures can eat rotting corpses, so let them do it!

This mod enables the eating of rotting or dessicated corpses. Due to the implementation the corpses are eatable by all pawns but only the creatures defined in the settings will actively eat them and they will not get food-poisoning from the corpses.
Rotting corpses will now have 50% of the original nutrition value
Dessicated corpses will have 25% of the original nutrition value

Save game compatible and supports all creatures/races.

Made it as a companion mod to the Rats! mod for those who wanted a way to take care of their corpses with a rat-farm.

Hi Mlie, i just noticed something strange playing today. My Dog's were eating dessicated corpses, yet getting Food Poisoning even though i had set them up to eat bones, but not rotten food, in this mod's settings. It seems though that if you do NOT also allow them to eat rotten food, they get the normal food poisoning chance. Animals that had both set up were not getting ill.

Could you see if there was a check forgotten for this specific use case?

Only just found this mod, but just confirms how much you add to the over all Rimworld experience, Ty should hire you!

I know your busy w/ 1.6 but when you get around to it, having multiple animal mods installed theres ALOT of clicking needed to activate this, could you add a confirm all/none option to help out? If/when you have the time, thanks again!

A small animal graphic next to the name would be very helpful. Like in Alpha Animals Spawn settings.

Do animals get food poisoning from eating rotting remains? I hope not.

@Skaadi This only affects animals

If I were to have a xenotype that wouldn't get food poisoning - would colonists actually go for rotting/desiccated corpses with this? Or are they still subject to the vanilla 30% malnutrition requirement to count as 'desperate' in order to go for it automatically?

yeh my rats are puking all over the place to.

All the rats still get food poisoning when eating rotten corpses, so a couple days after a battle the forest is completly covert in rat vomit.
