A raw, unedited demonstration of an extremely long standing issue in KF2 where the game doesn't dynamically update the criteria deciding whether a block or parry from a player is valid when the attack they're attempting to block or parry is projectile in nature. The result of this being that depending on where the player is on the map in addition to where they're looking, they'll only be able to block projectiles while themselves facing one direction regardless of the direction the projectiles in question are actually coming from.

There was once a time when a similar issue could be observed with blocking and parrying melee attacks as well but it was swiftly patched in Early Access.

Given that this issue can only be observed with the only two projectile blocking capable weapons in the game (the Bone Crusher and the much more recent Riot Shield) combined with the seemingly random consistency of said blocking on first glance further complicated by projectile blocking not presenting too many practical uses in normal gameplay - it's easy to see how this issue despite its long-standing nature has seemed to mostly slip under the radar.

I haven't seen many videos demonstrating this issue and KF2's QA team last said on the subject that reproducibility issues were a hindrance to this bug's resolution. To assist, I've uploaded this video as a substantially more useful visual aid for KF2's QA team to not only better be able to reproduce this strange bug but then identify and ultimately nip whatever's causing it behind the scenes.

The test in the video is done on the Elysium map due to its extremely convenient starting location- a wide open, square arena. I utilize the Bone Crusher in going back and forth between all 4 sides of the arena a handful of times with different braindead Zed types spawned on each of the 4 sides for orientation purposes. Hans is used as a projectile source due to his near total and constant usage of his guns on his first phase.

It's worth keeping in mind that despite Elysium being in my opinion the most convenient map to demonstrate this bug, it is not map-dependent. This issue can be witnessed on all official maps and very likely all non-official ones as well with the general reproduction method going unchanged from what is seen here.
