The Marxist Tendency (MT; Russian: Марксистская тенденция; МТ; Marksistskaya tendentsiya, MT) is communist organization operating in Russia and leading work on the creation of national sections of the International marxist tendency (IMT) in the territory of the former USSR.

The organization consists of convinced Bolshevik-Leninists. Marxist Tendency is the Russian section of the world Trotskyist organization International Marxist Tendency, whose history dates back to the international left opposition in the communist movement.

n May 3-4, 2019, the XIII Congress of the Revolutionary Workers' Party (Russia) was held. The Congress was attended by representatives of regional organizations from Moscow, Primorye, Bashkortostan, Saratov, Nizhny Novgorod, St. Petersburg, Krasnodar Territory, Krasnoyarsk Territory, the Republic of Belarus, Chuvashia, the Komi Republic and others. In addition, representatives of the Russian section of the International Marxist Tendency took direct part in the work of the congress.

Representatives of left-wing political organizations attended the congress as guests: Rot-Front, Left Front, United Communist Party.

The congress adopted a decision on the organizational merger with the Russian section of the MMT and the entry of the party into the International Marxist Tendency International. Thus, the present congress has outlined a clear tendency towards the unification and strengthening of the Trotskyist movement in the post-Soviet space and in the world.

The congress adopted the updated charter and program of the party, as well as the resolution of the congress on the current situation in Russia and the world. Among other things, the institution of the party referendum was introduced in the party. At the congress, a new composition of the Central Committee and the Central Committee of the WRP was elected.
