TR2Main project by Arsunt started in 2017. It keeps being developed and now provides best game experience of TRII on PC.

Patch brings correct Aspect Ratio look into game making it, including fonts, no longer looking stretched no matter what resolution you use.


• Bigger Health- and Airbars which size is calculated based of your resolution. You can manually tweak it's size from predefined dimensions
• Bigger pickup notifiers. Fonts and notifiers size can be manually tweaked from predefined dimensions
• HD Textures Support
• Controllers support, including PlayStation, XBox and others. Separate Controls for Keyboard and Controllers with no need to remapping your binds each time you disconnecting your controller
• Full The Golden Mask expansion support
• Cheats (TombPC.dat modification required)


• Waving Menu
• Colorful Gradient Bars (can be reverted back to PC look if you prefer)
• Flare and Gunflashes
• Reflection effects on Swords and Spinning Blades
• Menu Looking
• Loading Screens

To install it, you have to put TR2Main package content inside your game folder (can be found via properties > local cache). tomb2.exe must be replaced. When everything installed correctly, you should see those files and folders:



You can also have files like WINPLAY.dll, WINSDEC.dll and WINSTR.dll. After installing this patch they are no longer needed and safe to remove. Files that are shown on screenshot are essential

ExtraOptions folder contains configuration .reg files that allows you to tweak the game to your preferences. You can ignore them and use default look that game provides at the 1st launch.



Game no longer "forgets" your custom mappings so you don't have to choose "User Keys" each time you restart it. Also if you have a Controller, it has it's own mapping page. With original game you can map Controller buttons OR Keyboard ones, now you can have both.

If you already have save files (savegame.0, savegame.1 etc.) you should move them into saves or savesGold (in case of The Golden Mask save) subfolders



DO NOT combine this patch with other tools like Peixoto, dgVooDoo, Controller mappers like DS4Windows, JoyToKey, XPadder and others as they break things. TR2Main support modern Windows systems and Controllers "out of the box".
