Downloading from the Download Station is easy, since you don't need to go to freeware websites.


To download content via the Download Station, we have to open the app for the game. When the launcher shows up, click "Manage Content", you'll see a big list of items as shown:

From there, you can change the filter of the content listed to "Download Station". You will get a long and lengthy list of un-installed content.


Double click an item, it'll bring up a menu that looks something like this:



































Just click "Download" to start the item's download progress.. it may take a while depending on how big the asset is.. (YOU MUST HAVE A TRAINZ ACCOUNT FOR THIS TO WORK!)

Now you're done! when its downloaded, boot up the game and check it out. Alternatively.. you could right click the asset, hover your mouse over open, and click "Preview Asset" which shall open your game up but with a cool preview system so you can look at the asset in it's glory...

Now its time for the other way of downloading content.. you can find plenty of content on the Download Station however there won't be much Thomas content, if you want that sorta stuff.. you'll be better with this method.


You can find websites that have this sorta stuff, like Sodor Workshops to name one.. basically download one of their locomotives, rolling stock, or whatever you want, for Sodor Workshops they mainly use Google Drive, though you may have trouble if its Dropbox. it may take a while depending on how big the asset is. When the asset is done downloading, open your downloads to see it.


If the asset is in a ZIP archive, you will want to extract the ZIP file of the asset you just downloaded.

To extract the archive using the built in Windows utility, simply Right Click > Extract All... to open the Extract Compressed (Zipped) Folders dialog.

From there, choose where you want to extract the asset(s) and then click Extract.

Now its time to install the assets into your game, you shall have a .CDP file of the model... Thing is though.. if there's one for the main model and another for the dependencies.. like this:
You will need to download both assets for the asset to work.. otherwise it wont work in-game. To install your assets.. simply drag them onto the Content Manager and they should start installing. (YOU MUST HAVE A TRAINZ ACCOUNT FOR THIS TO WORK!)
