Put Steam offline, copy the JSON, start a new game with the expedition, save, load and save again.
I did it 8 times for all expeditions.
Then I put steam to online and loaded the first save from expedition 5.
There I clicked on one reward and it put the file from expedition into normal.
I then checked my current expedition save from 14 and I had everything from all 5-13 expeditions unlocked.
I just forgot No Man's Sky all that time. :D
I did play 1-4 when they came out and now 14.
And I will still play any expedition (I haven't played yet) when its replayed, if I don't forget it again...
Except... When you go at these coordinate, I swear it becomes creepypasta level of corrupted. The closer you get to the coordinate, the more you see corrupted stretching texture coming from where the portal should be. If you somehow are able to get to the portal, there is a corrupted Gek that softlock you if you try to interact with them.
So yeah, unless this is fixed Expedition 2 is just impossible to experience vanilla now.
(had to make two comments due to character limit)
Expedition 1 starts on a Green solar system. That's not too big of an issue, it just unlocks one of the milestone earlier, so just be aware of that if you are trying to play that expedition as vanilla as possible.
You can, of course, fix everything with a save editor, but aren't we mostly here because we are trying to avoid that?
Expedition 9 can also not be completed, as you cannot Upload Base while offline and therefore you cannot fix your ship. Like 10, this can only be resolved by using the "partial complete" file. Note that this one has no access to the Anomaly ever, which was part of the original intent of the Expedition.
Expedition 8 has issues where "always starting with Capital ship" replaces the custom frigate captain with a generic one who does not allow access to the Ship's Log. This can apparently be resolved by completely closing the game and reloading. You'll see the NPC name changes when it's fixed.

Rather than put Steam into Offline mode, I instead temporarily block NMS from connecting to the game servers while I click "complete" on all the phases - you only need to collect the smaller things if you plan on continuing to use the save afterwards (or you fancy trying to copy it all over to your main save with the save editor).
