Queensland Rail Clyde 1700/1720 Class Pack

Beskrivning
A bundle of 4 versions of the Clyde built Queensland Rail 1700/1720 class in both their delivery form and with the Driver Only Operation Refit.

The 1700's were build by Clyde Engineering for QR in 1963 for use on light branch lines. Basically a stripped down G8 locomotive with an End Cab instead of a hood powered by an EMD 567C eight cylinder.

The 1720's were a direct evolution of the 1700's designed mainly for suburban passenger services and general freight duties. The weight increased to 62 tons, the speed went up to 100km/h and the prime mover was replaced with an EMD 645E eight cylinder and fitted with a quick start switch for faster acceleration. Many of the 1720's are still in service.

Both of the classes went through a refit in the 90's for Driver Only Operation, recieving new larger windscreens and an air conditioning pod. (Because it's bloody hot here.)

Features:
The original end cab design of both the 1700 and 1720.
The rebuilt Driver Only Operation version of both the 1700 and 1720.
Model Citizens AAR couplers. (Many thanks!)
Custom dirt and rust.
Custom sound set and horn. (Many thanks to Paul Shepherd on Youtube for graciously allowing me hack up his wonderful videos and harvest sounds from them.)
Static versions.
Reversed versions.
Custom numbers and headcodes set using the 'Train Name' option. 1700's originally bore 1700 to 1711. 1720's wore numbers between 1720-1775. The 'D' indicates the Driver Only Operation rebuild. You can use any 4 digits you'd like. :)

Liveries:
1700 'Diesel Blue' as delivered from 1963 in End Cab form. (Repaintable)
1700 'Bronco' from 1993 in it's Driver Only Operation form.

1720 'Diesel Blue Original' as delivered from 1966 in End Cab form. (Repaintable)
1720 'Diesel Blue' variant with logo from 1966 in End Cab form.
1720 'Bicentennial' from 1988 in End Cab form.
1720 'Generic' from 1993 based on the later Progress Rail (no logos) with Driver Only Operation rebuild. (Repaintable)
1720 'Bronco' from 1994 in its Driver Only Operation form.
1720 'Bronco Blue Nose' from 1994 representing 1743D with it's mismatched air conditioning pod.
1720 'Diesel Blue' from 1993 representing the early rebuilds of the 1720 into Driver Only Operation keeping old livery.

A little something I've been working on to add to my Queensland collection. Will be working on the U34CH at some point soon as requested. Also have a South African Class 36-200 (basically an EMD SW1002) in the works and an update to my Alco RS-1 with new meshes and textures. I'll also add some South African textures to this when I release the Class 36-200, since South Africa purchased a lot of ex-QR stock.

Any issues, let me know below I'll do what I can to help. Though I'm no expert! :)

Cheers all, take care!

I'm in the process of reworking these (along with the 2300s) with better meshes, better textures and new normal maps. I'll make up a VR livery for you while I'm at it :)

My apologies for the late reply, very busy with work and real world rubbish. xD

I have a 2800 Class QR loco and VNQB coal wagons on the way, I work on them when I have the time. :D

Any other planned Queensland Rail locomotives or rolling stock?

Ahaha thanks so much! :D There should be a 2300/2300D pack coming soon. Working on textures and engine sounds at the moment ;)

So glad you enjoy it!

@Papachris, is there one particular NSW item you would really like?
papachris 14 maj, 2021 @ 10:08
Looking very nice! I wish someone would do some NSW stuff, but I won't complain about ANY Australian train content on any train game - there's so little of it...

I actually have a set of plans for the SX's I've yet to start one. I'll have at 'em when I finish the 2300/2300D's. They'd be a nice companion to these I think. :)

Just whats listed above and the Kiwirail DF/DFT.

I've got to be careful not let the list go absolutely apeshit. Or it just spirals out of control with stuff I want to make hahaha :D

Should also add/make the SX sets as they were hauled behind these locos...as with other locos too. Any other locos/items on the horizon?
