So i played dutch a bit recently and usually just dont chop wood the first few minutes and buy all of it. That got me thinking: When is it better to buy wood in the market and when is it better to chop it yourself? am i being INEFFICIENT?

Market Basics:
In the Market you can buy 100 Wood for coin. The amount of Coin depends on how many times the market was used, it starts at 125 and each time someone buys in the market, the cost increases by one. This means for the first 100 Wood you pay 125 coin, for the next 100 wood you pay 126 coin etc. This is globally, so if someone else is buying wood, the price increases for you too.
MarketRatio = CoinCost / WoodCost = 125 + (1 * x) / 100

Now that we have the market ratios, lets compare the Gatherrate for Coin and Wood.
Baserates: 0.5 wood/second & 0.6 coin/sec. Dutch start with a bonus of +20% coin gather rate from mines.
For this scenario i assume, you dont have any wood upgrades

MaximumWoodPriceToBuy = CoinGatherRate / WoodGatherRate * 100

CoinWoodRatio = CoinGatherRate / WoodgatherRate

So heres the answer:
When the the wood cost is higher than 144 (without market upgrade) or 156 (with placer mines) then you send some vills from mines to wood and use the wood to build stuff.

Hey, great video. A suggestion for another analysis you could do : the several cards that transform a ressource into another, like food into coin, etc. At what point are they worth it ?
