How to survive the village atack on hardcore and VoS difficulty

First step

First run to this house to start the Lycan atack. Before you go in, there is a crate you can open. Most of the time it has a herb that you can use to craft a healing item. If you are hurt make sure to heal before starting

Once inside the house just barricade the door, loot the house and shoot any lycan that wants to bang at the door. That way you will max out the time you can spent in that first house before you have to move on. This is important because we need to survive 4 min. Thats why we want to spent as much time in the first house as possible.

The first house has no big windows so the only way they can get in is through the door. Save at least two pistol bullets and when they get into the house knife the flour bag and jump down the basement. In the basement wait for the lycans to jump after you and than run to the next house.

Second and last tip

From the basement rush to the second house on the hill and get inside. Close off the door and again make sure to spent as much time inside as you can. Make sure you shoot the lycans that are trying to break the door and window. Make sure you save one or two bullets for explosive barrels that will help you kill or slow the lycans down.

At that point the big daddy lycan should join in. If he does appear take the ladder to the roof. While it’s more exposed, you can see the lycans coming and prepare to defend yourself. When they start to overwhelm you here (usually when there’s 2-3 right by you), jump off the roof.

Once you jump off run to the left near the red gate and explosive barrel. Kill as many lycans with the barrel as you can and than rush to the house with the radio and shove the dresser in front of the door. At that point go all out and shoot whatever lycan gets close.

On VoS its about 4.30 min, on hardcore its 3 min i think. Anyway its all about maxing out the time and balancing healing. Sometimes the RNG is just bad and you will get hit by a lycan that will block your way.

In my case, I was just lucky, because when I was in the same house where you could climb onto the roof, the second phase had already begun. This is the phase in which a large lycan walks and hits buildings with a hammer. It turned out that I was thrown down a ladder, and two lycans got stuck in the hole, could not fall and attack me. And the giant stood at the entrance and beat the house, not allowing the smaller ones to come up and break the barricade. I got stuck in the corner of the house, and after a few moments of waiting I was pulled through the textures of the building into a cut-scene.

For me, this was the most difficult part of the game. I set myself the goal of completing this game on all difficulty levels, and this moment was the most difficult compared to the bosses. When I first completed it on hard level, it took me about 30 attempts. The point is that you don't need to take a lot of damage.

Started the game on Hardcore. The village isn't that hard, just get good.

The trick is to shoot the lycan before he hit you. Then shoot the big man before he hit you. Guide complete. EZ PZ

'I was able to climb and hold onto the top of the ladder in the basement house and not get hit from the bottom, hope it helps'

This doesn't work for me. I have held onto that ladder for over 15 minutes and nothing happened.

i know its all referring to new game but still just lay into them using the dragoon with inf ammo. despite only having like 300 power it can tear through an enemy with ease

Its a poorly designed encounter and there is really nothing more to it. Best to wait until you have bonus weapons unlocked before attempting a VoS run, unless you want to torture yourself. Genuinely not even sure its physically possible to beat the game on VoS on a new save file.

Question, in the barn with the ladder, couldn't you just stop half way up and sit there, only coming up after the time is up? Curious if anyone has tried that?

On Hardcore
I went around the barn, unlocked the door that loops around the back. I pretty much followed these steps, but instead of going back to the original barn and holding ground, I just ran around the side, went back into the first house and looped two times. Using the flower / barrels only when needed. Just don't rush, time it where the lycans gather together and run the above course. Also, with the first house, if you run out too quick (through the basement), the lycans will not break down the barricaded door..... meaning a dead end when you loop, and take this from me, that means two things.

By the end, I used maybe one shotgun shell, and two / three bullets (just to stun an enemy in my way). Walked away pretty good all things considered.
