Adds Pirates to the spawning table, Pirate NPCs will spawn instead of SOTDS in some cases

Pirates have their own loot, you must dive down and salvage from their wrecks

Pirates now drop crew, similar to SOTDs
Pirates are meant to be harder the Sotd, beware

Elite Pirates are know to show up occasionally, these will be very tough

Each ship class can be modified in these ways, you will add the name in parentheses to the end of the ship class
For instance Common Schooner Damage change would be CommonSchoonerDamage = 5

How many planks they can repair at one time (PlanksToRepair) 0 - ?
Spare Planks they are holding (SparePlanks) 0 - ?
SpareSails they are holding(SpareSails) 0 - ?
How many Sets of Bps/gold you want (sets) 0:5
The quality range of the BPs (quality) 1:10

Loot Config
Common

New Death timer INI
All Elite ships will now despawn after a 2 hour timer, this keeps the seas from being overrun with ships no one wants to fight
This can be changed in the INI, can also be added to common ships if you want pirates to continuelly change up.
If a ship will use a death timer (UseDeathTime) True/False
Length of time ship will stay on the seas before leaving in seconds (DeathTime) 0 - ? I would not make this less than an hour

Other Changes,
Elite Schooners got a name, Elite ships will longer chase for 12 hours now only for 4 minutes
Fixed loot drops to cycle through each time instead of just add to one set multiple times

Kell has not posted since 28 Mar 2024, so I figure they have probably moved on, which is understandable (maintaining mods eternally for free is a real chore).

With that said, here is my query (copy pasted from r/playatlas)

I had played Atlas ~450 hours prior to 2020. Came back recently and having fun with a modded singleplayer session, including the "Pirates Roam" mod. There are two pirate camps and two or more "roaming" pirate ships near my first base on Cheery Isle. They leave me alone unless I go to close, and I intend to attack the land camps once I get some muskets crafted.

However, I'm told by my robot assistant that it is "not possible" to either take occupancy of these pirate land sites, nor to prevent them from respawning.

Anyone know of a mod that does allow that or a file where settings could be adjusted?

As a few already asked: is there a way to reduce the amount of pirateships or mix it them up better with Sods or block the spawn of pirateships in certain grids?, or have this mod gone dead/discontinued and if thats the case mark it as that plz:steamhappy:

is there a way to mix and match sotds and these pirate ships, i want sods to be more common then the pirates. is there a ini setting where i can do that?

Really neat mod, just trying to find all the config options so we can use it. Had quite a few good recommendations for this mod. Few questions, customizing loot pool? not allowing spawn in freeport grid? reducing amount of pirate ships in a grid? (sotd NPCShipNumMult is default and it seems there's a lot of pirate ships spawning)

Hey, I'm a big fan of this mod, it's a lovely addition to the boring SOTD. This mod gives you a actually challenge/tread in to the game when sailing. Love it.
But I got a question.. I have this mod running on a server, I managed to find the basic settings like the damage, planks, etc. but I cant seem to finde the Loot ini settings. I found the lootstructures uasset. But how do I actually edit this file? Its just symbols for me :(
I'ld love to hear from the dev or maybe someone else who knows how to edit the uasset files. Thanks :D

I was able to custom Pirate Booty loot pool, but that seems to override the map one as well as the ammo one. I was trying to make them have their own loot pool but I was unsure how to get that to work. Seems like pirate booty is the overall loot of the ship as a whole and those are sub categories of it?

hi hi i was wondering if there was a way to add the klinger bp's as a item dropped by the ships. As i prefer the roaming pirates.
