Welcome to the Resident Evil 8 Achievement Guide!

Almost all of the achievements are self-explanatory, we will add tips and tricks to unlock them and also video for the locations of the collectibles. To beat all of them you require at least 2 full runs of the main game minimum provided you start with the "village of shadows" difficulty unlocked, but that is highly unadvisable and 3 runs are your best bet leaving a final third run when you are comfortable with the game and have unlocked a lot of stuff to wrap up any remaining achievements like the speedrun (Dashing dad), knife only (Knives out), etc.

The achievements mentioned below are all story related so they can’t be missed. If you want to get spoiled go ahead and hover away the spoiler protection to know when they pop.

Not Lycan This...
Unlocked after you survive the waves of lycans.


Four Lords
After you run from Heisenberg the achievement will pop.


That Sucked
Kill the transformed/mutated waifu Dimitrescu.


Got No Strings
Kill the creepy looking doll Angie and her puppeteer Donna.


Fish Out of Water
After the water is drained, kill the vulnerable Moreau.


Up Urs!
Kill Urias on your way to Heisenberg.


Temporary Measures.
When you get to the ceremony site, put the Giant's Chalice in the appropriate place.


Iron Giant Down.
Bring down the mutated Heisenberg.


The Root of the Matter.
Find the Megamycete in the underground ruins.

Achievements that are rewarded to you for beating the game in several difficulties or in a certain way.

We advise you begin your first playthrough on the Hardcore difficulty. Doing so will give you acess to the hardest one that is called Village of Shadows, and also gives you the two previous difficulty achievements: "Great Dad" and "Best Dad".

Great Dad
Finish the story on at least Casual difficulty.


Best Dad Ever
Finish the story on at least Standard difficulty.


World's Best Dad
Finish the story on at least Hardcore difficulty.


Universe's Best Dad
Finish the story on the Village of Shadows difficulty.



Don’t Trust That Snake Oil.
Beat the entire game while using a maximum of four recovery items. You should do it on your new game+ playthrough after you unlock infinite weapons.

Dashing Dad.
Finish the story within 3 hours. Again it is advised to be done in a second playthrough for the reason said above.

Frugal Father.
Finish the story without spending more than 10,000 Lei. After you get a weapon with infinite ammo in it on your second time playing the story, this should be easy enough.

Knives Out.
Don't use any guns to kill enemies for the course of the whole game. You can still shoot animals, collectibles, or treasures if you so desire. At the end of the game don't use the weapon Chris gives you because it will void this achievement.

Achievements that you can miss if not done at the correct moment of the story progression.

Goooaaal!
At prologue go upstairs and gently kick the ball to the study room where the computer is.


Timber
You have to kill a giant called Urias that comes at the end of the wave of lycans at the end of the waves of lycans said in the "Not Lycan This" achievement. Easier said than done so it is advised to kill him in your second playthrough when you have acess to infinite ammo.

Hooligan
Break every breakable window in Castle Dimitrescu in a single playthrough. See the "Collecibles Video" section for more information.


Medium Rare
Set fire to a Moroaică in the story.


Leader of the Pack
Take down the Vârcolac Alfa in the story.


Fast reflexes
Knock a flaming arrow out of the sky with a close combat weapon in the story.


Quit Hanging Around
Destroy a Soldat, by shooting it down, hanging at the production line from the Factory.



Strategist
Defeat at least three enemies with one attack in the story.


Push Comes to Shove
Push away an enemy after guarding in the story. To do this just press guard right after you block an enemies atack.

Hunter
Hunt an animal during the story.


Trick Shot
Defeat an enemy from long range with the sniper rifle in the story.


Squawk Shot
Shoot down five flying crows in the story. When you see them be prepared to startle them away and then shoot when they take off.



Photographer
Use Photo Mode. As soon as you see the first cutscene press "ESC" or "P" and select Photo Mode.

Get the Ball Rolling
Solve a Labyrinth. The first one can be found at Castle Dimitrescu at the merchants room.


Patron
Purchase something from the Duke in the story. When you reach Castle Dimitrescu you'll soon meet the Duke. Buy anything at all to unlock this achievement.

Crafter
Craft an item in the Crafting menu.


Petty Thief
Unlock a simple lock with a lockpick.


Gunsmith
Equip a gun with a customizable part.


Veteran Gunsmith
Equip every gun with their customizable parts in the story. See the "Collecibles Video" section for more information.


Repairer
Combine a treasure into its complete form.


When You Gotta Go...
Open the door to every outhouse in the village in a single playthrough. See the "Collecibles Video" section for more information.


Mapmatician
Complete the village map.


Lucky Number 7
Have 777, 7,777, or 77,777 Lei in your possession in the story.


Tinkerer
Create every type of item available in the Crafting menu. See the "Collecibles Video" section for more information.

Cynic
Destroy a Goat of Warding. See the "Collecibles Video" section for more information.


Artisan
Collect every crafting recipe. See the "Collecibles Video" section for more information.


Heretic
Destroy all the Goats of Warding. See the "Collecibles Video" section for more information.


Bookworm
Read every single file in the story. See the "Collecibles Video" section for more information.


Art Collector
View all concept art. You can unlock these after you complete the game one time. Just go ahead to the menu called Bonuses and then Extra Content Shop to buy them.

Doll Collector
View all character and weapon models. Just go ahead to the menu called Bonuses and then Extra Content Shop to buy them.

Combo King
Get a combo of at least 30 during The Mercenaries. Check the video from the Legendary Cowboy achievement to get a gist on how to do it.

Legendary Cowboy
Achieve at least an S Rank on all stages in The Mercenaries. A video is in the making.
