Introduction
This guide is specifically oriented for players having trouble finding those last few cards. I'm simply making an analysis of the options you have if and when you've reached this point and laying out the pros and cons of the next step(s) you could take to finally unlock the achievement.

Please note this guide does not include screenshots of all the possible locations of the stickers. For that purpose, please download the Microid's official guide[dl1.anuman.fr]. I recommend using only the screenshots, given the information published there is not always accurate, the format is, simply put, awful and some mechanics are poorly explained.

Also, I'm aware there already are some very useful guides and posts related to this achievement, but some of them don't address every issue you may encounter and none of them really offer a solution if you're stuck other than keep trying.

The Problem
If you're reading this, most likely you've completed the game at least once, maybe twice, and you need help getting those final few stickers. Now, you'd think the best way to do it is to revisit all areas and search for the missing stickers (like in every other game ever made), but know you're taking a potentially huge risk.

To fully understand the complexity of the problem at hand, first you need to understand how the sticker system works. Here's what you need to know:
  • Stickers are saved separately from the progress of the story, which means you'll always keep the stickers you collected on previous playthroughs, even when you start a new game.
  • There are a total of 100 stickers in the game, distributed randomly in 160 different locations.
  • There is, however, a constant specific number of stickers that is allocated to each of the game areas (Blacksad's Office, Dunn's Gym, etc). This means each area has a specific number of stickers, no more, no less. You can and absolutely should use this to your advantage.
  • You can't check how many cards you picked on each area, so unless you take note right from the very beginning of the game, you'll be clueless until you find them all.
  • There are 14 different areas with cards in the game.
  • Each time you start a new game, all missing stickers of each area are randomly redistributed in the former empty possible locations of that area in particular.
  • The same sticker (eg Boxing #65) someone found in an area may be in a completely different area in your game, so knowing which sticker(s) you're missing won't help you at all to shorten the list of potential locations to search.
  • Some stickers are tricky and require a bit of pixel hunting.

Now, I think it's safe to assume that absolutely no one took note of how many stickers found in this or that area of the game on their first playthrough. So unless you have photographic memory, be aware that you'll have to revisit all areas because you won't know what areas you completed and what areas you didn't nor how many cards you're missing in those.

And you may think that's not the end of the world, but remember:
  • There are 14 areas with cards in the game, some of them with lots of cutscenes and dialogues.
  • You can't skip dialogues or cutscenes.

Basically this means you'll have to try blind luck and search in all potential locations of each area, one area at a time. That's 160 different locations, and the fewer stickers you're missing, the harder the hunt will become. If you're lucky it will take no time, but if you're not there's virtually no difference with playing the game twice. That's around 7 hours of your life.

Now, if you're after this achievement most likely you're after all of them, so considering you're probably missing other achievements too, you may think you could start a new game, go for those and at the same time pick the missing cards to make the most of your time.

So far, nothing terrible.

The Real Problem
The problem with that method is that you don't know what areas you cleared and what areas you think you cleared but you really didn't. And yes, you can use other guides to search in every potential location, but that means checking 160 spots with no real guarantee that you've got them all in one area. Remember: one tiny, single mistake will force you to have to check 160 different locations a third time. That's another 7 hours of your life.

So, in the case that you finish the game for a second time and you are still missing a card or two, you'll be back at where you started. You'll feel like you've already searched everywhere, you'll be bored to death of going through the same endless dialogues and cutscenes time and time again, and the worst part: you'll still have no idea in what specific area(s) those cards may be.

Your options now are narrowed to considering buddhism and revisit every place (again and again), pray to RNGesus and start a new game for the third time or just give up before you start hating the game you once enjoyed.
The Solution
"Never leave destiny in the hands of fate, I always play it nice and safe"

Be aware: the name of this guide refers to the most efficient way to collect all 100 cards, not the quickest, not necessarily the easiest.

This is what you'll do: you'll delete your save files and start from scratch, this time knowing how the system works and using it to your advantage. You'll have to play the game one more time, but it will be the last, guaranteed. It will take you approximately 6-7 hours of your life.

It's actually quite simple: by knowing how many cards are in each area of the game, you'll know how many you need to grab before moving on. Once you have them all, you can cross each of the 14 areas off the list, one by one. In case you're missing a card or two by the end of the game, you'll just have to revisit the area(s) you left incomplete. It'll take some time, but you won't lose your head in the process. Believe me, I've been there.

On Windows, you can find your save files here:
C:\Users\[user_name]\AppData\LocalLow\PenduloStudios\Blacksad\

Just delete all the files, or move them to a different location and start a new game.

Below you'll find the details for each area of the game as well as some bugs you may experience.
Blacksad's Office
As soon as you get to Dunn's gym, go straight to Bobby Yale's locker to unlock the option to go back to your office. Don't pick up any cards on Dunn's gym yet.
  • Cards in the area: 3
  • Potential Locations in the area: 5
Dunn's Gym
  • Cards in the area: 24
  • Potential Locations in the area: 37
  • Even though the area has different rooms (office, alley, roof, etc), you can navigate through them freely without worrying of making them inaccesible by moving to other rooms.
Sam's Diner
  • Cards in the area: 3
  • Potential Locations in the area: 5
Bobby Yale's Apartment
  • Cards in the area: 6
  • Potential Locations in the area: 10
Mary Purnell's Apartment
  • Cards in the area: 1
  • Potential Locations in the area: 2
Hospital
  • Cards in the area: 6
  • Potential Locations in the area: 9
  • Have in mind you'll be at the hospital in two different occasions, so don't worry if you only collected 5 cards your first time. Still, carefully keep track of your progress.
O'Leary's Headquarters
  • Cards in the area: 14
  • Potential Locations in the area: 23
  • This area contains 6 different rooms that once you leave you won't be able to go back to, so take your time and make sure you've fully explored them. These rooms are: the alley, the lobby, the basement (torch), the basement (flashlight), the secret door and the office.
  • Make sure you enter the basement through the backdoor, don't use the elevator unless you've already picked up the cards in the lobby or you're sure there aren't any in there.
  • Yes, as stupid as it sounds, the basement has cards that you can only pick up when you have your lighter equipped and cards that you can only pick up with the flashlight.
Hotel / Barbershop
  • Cards in the area: 5
  • Potential Locations in the area: 8
  • Given you have limited time to explore, I suggest you check one or two potential locations per flashback. You can also die and retry.
Joe Dunn's Apartment
  • Cards in the area: 9
  • Potential Locations in the area: 15
  • Make sure to check all potential locations before you interact with all the story-related objects, given you'll automatically leave the area when you do that.
Greenwood Cemetery
  • Cards in the area: 4
  • Potential Locations in the area: 6
  • Make sure to check all potential locations before you interact with all the story-related objects, given you'll automatically leave the area when you do that.
Weekly's Darkroom
  • Cards in the area: 1
  • Potential Locations in the area: 2
Pier & Rooftop
  • Cards in the area: 6
  • Potential Locations in the area: 9
  • This area contains 2 different rooms. Once you've interacted with the forklift, you won't be able to go back to the pier, so take your time and make sure you've fully explored it.
Warehouse & Secret Lab
  • Cards in the area: 7
  • Potential Locations in the area: 11
  • This area contains 2 different rooms. Once you've interacted with the secret door to the lab, you won't be able to go back to the warehouse, so take your time and make sure you've fully explored it.
Thorpe's Office
  • Cards in the area: 11
  • Potential Locations in the area: 18
  • This area contains 3 different rooms. Once you've accessed the conference room, you won't be able to go back to the lobby; and once you've accessed Thorpe's office you won't be able to go back to the conference room, so take your time and make sure you've fully explored these rooms.
Microid's Guide's Innacuracies
As I mentioned in the beginning, I suggest you to completely disregard the text in Microid's Official guide[dl1.anuman.fr]. Here's why:
  • They state (or at the very least suggest) that each section of the 14 areas they mention has a predetermined number of cards. This is not true. I've found 2 cards in rooms that were supposed to have 1 and 4 cards in rooms that were supposed to have 3, as well as 3 in rooms supposed to have 4. The total per area is correct, but disregard the breakout of each room, as it will only confuse you.
  • They state that O'Leary's Headquarters have 6 cards in 9 possible locations. That's a copy-paste error (taken from the hospital). That section has 14 cards and 23 potential locations. You can double-check this with the detail of that area, which is accurate.
Bugs
#1: Phantom Card(s) in Dunn's Gym:
As you can see below, there's a card you can pick up to the left of Dunn's Office.

However, when you revisit the area, a card will still be there. You can't interact with this card.

I've also read the same happens with this card, although I didn't experience the issue (most likely because the card is behind the boxes and you can't see it):

#2: Magic Card in Thorpe's Office
I got my last card by revisiting Thorpe's Office. The missing card magically appeared on the side table in Thorpe's office when I went there a second time, but it was not there the first time. So give it a try before going crazy if something similar happens to you.
Final notes and Thanks
  • If you can't find the last sticker (Thorpe's bottom half) on Thorpe's office, try finishing the game and then reloading the chapter. The sticker should now appear and you should be able to collect it. According to @Pelican, the card doesn't appear unless your profile has finished the game.
  • The achievement will unlock once you've collected the last sticker. It won't unlock if you have the 4 achievements for the boxing, baseball, hockey and football pages (this is likely to occur if you deleted your save at least once), but you don't have the complete album. You need to get the 100 stickers in one savefile to unlock the achievement.
  • Because you're deleting all your progress, it is suggested to unlock 'The End(s)' before you try this method.

Finally: I really enjoyed the game, but I can't understand why the developers never addressed silly obstacles like the no-skipping mechanic in a game with multiple endings (that is, a game that they encourage you to play multiple times). A simple option that allows you to check how many stickers you got from each area would have helped too.

In any case, hopefully you can now unlock this achievement. It took me a while and I had to try a few ideas, but I finally managed to do it and wanted to help others to get it in the most pragmatic way I could think of.

This is my first guide, so any comments or suggestions will be welcomed.

Cheers!

I’m going crazy. I am 100% sure I got 4 out of 6 cards in the Pier Level. I wrote down each card i got. But still, even if I load this chapter , every single card location is empty… And even if I finished the game, the second half of Thorpe is missing too in the last Chapter. I think I will have to go through the entire game one more time… :(

@ccf You are a life saver, after a lot of searching and 2 complete playthroughs, your comment saved my sanity. #124 spot was my last collectible. Thank you very much.

So i was missing 2 cards in the end and went back to olearys basement and searched the place first with the lighter and then the flashlight and there the card was, as the writer says as stupid as it sounds different cards by lighter and flashlight

I tried to be clever and deleted only the TCInfo.bin file, not my savegames. That didn't work out as expected: My Hall of Fame was empty and the stickers were again scattered around the locations, but they were all "phantoms" and couldn't be picked up.

Sorry for the confusion, guys. What I meant by going 'a second time' is exactly what Pelican and Ccf did, simply loading the office chapter after finishing the game, since the first time I went there I couldn't find the card. I'll add that note to the guide.

Great guide.

I concur to Pelican's comment. I had to finish the game then reload the last chapter for card #22 (Thorpe's bottom half) to be there. There was no card available before (was spot #156 for me).

Also, extra remarks:
- spot #20 might not be rendered if your resolution is not wide enough.
- spot #22 needs the player to go behind the wall.
- spot #117 requires the player to go behind the tombstone.
- spot #124 is a vicious one. You have to go near the container which allows you to look at Jill then exit that position first. Only then will the camera be in the correct position for you to check that spot.

Guys, can anyone tell where is a card #55?
Pelican 9 Apr, 2022 @ 11:16am
Regarding the bug in Thorpe's office, I'm not sure what the author means exactly when he says he went there a second time. After starting with a fresh save file, I had 99/100 cards before opening to door to Thorpe's office, and all the spots were definitely empty; just quitting the game and continuing didn't help. I then progressed to the end of the game, selected Continue on the main menu, and then on the pause menu selected Load to switch back to the office scene. I had to repeat the conversations with Yale and Stone and the receptionist, but once I could explore I found the last card beneath the ashtray (spot 158). I think there's an undocumented rule that this collectible, the bottom half of Thorpe's card, doesn't appear unless your profile has finished the game.

If you're positive you've searched absolutely everywhere in Dunn's Gym, after you find the missing card in O'Leary's HQ, just in case I would make a backup copy of your current save file (with the 2 missing cards) and then start a new game, hoping those last two spawn in better places in Dunn's Gym. Get the card in O'Leary's first so you only need to search the gym. Luckily getting to the point where you can explore Dunn's Gym is not that time consuming when you restart, so I think it's worth the shot. If you can't find them in your current game by any means, I think it's best to start a new one so they move to different spots.

Good luck and thanks for your compliments!

Thanks for the response. That's basically exactly what I meant. Those cards will solely be relegated to Dunn's Gym. I'm about 60% though the game and only missing 3 cards...2 of them being Dunn's Gym, 1 in O'Leary's HQ (Might've missed it in the ligher portion,). I did a COMPREHENSIVE search of the gym and found 22...could not find the last 2. Are you 100% sure they spawn somewhere else? If so I missed them but man...I spent like a large portion of my playtime going around that zone looking for cards. Either way, thanks for this guide. It's been very helpful and I'm sure you put a lot of time & effort into it.
