Level Survival Achievements
Novice Survivor to Level10
Survive all 10 levels.
Each achievement is earned by beating a different storymode level in order.
T-1, E-2, L-3, E-4, G-5, L-6, I-7, T-8, C-9, H-10.

Arena 1 to Arena 4
Beat all 4 arenas.
Arenas are unlocked once every two storymode levels are beaten, starting from level4. Beat level4 to unlock arena1, level6 to unlock arena2, level8 to unlock arena3, and level10 to unlock arena4.
The two secret Steam achievements are the ones for arena3 and arena4.

The Honourable Survivor
Has completed the game.
You will get this achievement as long as you complete the game.
You can start playing on any level using the shortcuts. Shortcuts are unlocked two levels in advance - level3 and 3b are unlocked by reaching level5, level5 by reaching level7, level7 by reaching level9, and level9 by beating the game. You will obviously have more gear if you start the game from the very beginning.

The Master Survivor
Completed the game in one run, starting from the first level.
Unlike the previous achievement, you MUST start playing on level1 in order to get this one. If you're still having trouble adapting to the game's mechanics, you can refer to the Tips & Tricks Guide written by Cyrax. Earning this achievement also guarantees you earn the previous one, while it is not the case vice-versa.

The Hardcore Survivor
Completed the game without using any personal emergency teleporters.
Beat the game without using any portable teleporters. Either throw the ones you find away, or don't pick them up at all; you can have them in your inventory, but if you die you will use one automatically, which will prevent you from getting this achievement.
Special Enemy Achievements
Survived Heavy Testing
Defeated the main opponents at level 5.
Defeat the two War Walkers on level5. You typically find them in a big room with heavy industrial machinery, a room that can also by identified by a green light next to the entrance. Once you enter the room, the light will turn red and the doors will be locked until you kill the Walkers (or die trying).

Two heavy rifle magazines should take care of both. A direct hit from a panzerfaust missile can one-shot one Walker, so if aimed well can be used to speed the process up. A cangun can knock both down and be used as a breather for you to switch weapons in order to keep them down permanently. It is ill advised to stay immobile, but outrunning them without powerlegs is impossible which means once you enter the room it is essentially a race of who kills who first.

Try to stay away from the walls, as they are often outlined with zombie-filled pipes.

Snake Killer
Defeated the Heavy Destroyer Snake.
The Heavy Destroyer Snake shows up at level6. It will spawn after a loud, mechanical scream is played, in a tightly packed square room marked by a green light on its entrance. Breaking line of sight via the permanent pillars in it is crucial; the Snake can demolish the fake walls but won't damage the main pillars and thus can be lead around them for an indefinite amount of time.

Running around the pillars buys you time to use medkits and switch weapons. Just like with the War Walkers, the heavy rifle does the job well; at this point you should have a lasgunmod, and spending the ammo to kill the boss is a good idea too. Pistols, shotguns and assault rifles are fairly inneffective otherwise. Running around the pillars at a decent pace ensures the Snake is never an immediate threat and can be neutralized fairly easily given you have ammo to spare.

Rocket Dodger
Defeated main opponent at level 8.
Kill the Blue Walker on level8. Since no weapon seems to be especially effective against it, use whatever you have and try to fill it with lead as fast as possible. 3 lasgunmod batteries and some heavy rifle fire will finish it off. The newly constructed railgun can fare well against any type of armored enemy and it is preferred to use it here as well. Don't get too close to the Walker or it will try to damage you with its melee attack.

Take cover behind the pillars in the room to soak rocket damage up; the pillars will get destroyed by the constant barrage of missiles shot at you, so stay on your feet, keep moving and try to kill it as fast as possible. If you stay parallel to the Walker when it is behind a pillar it'll have trouble pathfinding around it, and this gives you time to manage your inventory and switch weapons if need be.

Knife Beserker
Has killed a Red Commander war robot with a knife.
A "Red Commander" is an alias for a War Walker; two can be encountered in a secret room on level3, are the main opponents in level5, and then continue appearing as regular enemies from level7 and on. In order to get the achievement, damage one with a heavy weapon or an explosive and land the last, killing hit with your blade.

Crafting a stronger blade (shockblade) requires one mchip and one tazer. After you craft it, it will take up a single slot in your inventory and will be displayed in yellow like teleporters and detectors do. It will count as an upgrade and won't require you to equip it before use.

The last wave of the last level in arena2 spawns a "Red Commander". If you're too impatient to play the story mode, try the arena variant. weaponset4 provides a shockblade and some explosives by default, so you don't have to craft or collect anything.

Eye for an Eye
Has killed 5 squids with lasers.
You will find a lasgun in level6 and squids from level7 and on. The lasgunmod, an upgraded version of the lasgun, also counts, and is generally more effective against any type of enemy. Crafting a lasgunmod requires one lasgun and one mchip. Kill a total of 5 squids (across all playthroughs) with either weapon to earn the achievement.

Straight to the Core
Destroy the final boss in less than 10 seconds.
The Core is the final boss of the game, and resides on level10. It consists of an outer layer, an inner layer, and a vulnerable core, which you must destroy in under 10 seconds to earn this achievement.

The layers are armored with machineguns, rocket launchers and lasers, and the Core itself spins in random directions while trying to hit the player with any weapon facing them directly. Destroy the outer layer by using panzerfausts (at least 2), a minigun (at least 70 bullets) and/or a lasgunmod (at least 5 batteries [4 ammo each]).

After you destroy the outer layer, get inside and throw nailbombs (at least 2) right at the inner layer. One bomb should destroy the layer, and the other should damage the Core. If they don't hit the Core but only break the inner layer, blow it up with an RDX_250 or finish it off with a weapon of your choice.

Note that some weapons might be less effective than others. Don't be afraid to use your whole arsenal since this will be your last encounter and defeating the boss will win you the game. Make sure your health is sufficient and that you're armored well enough, because you won't have time to dodge bullets or try to avoid getting hit.

Here's a list of items you will need to create the recommended weapons:
  • minigun - x1 motor, x4 mg-3200
  • lasgunmod - x1 lasgun, x1 mchip
  • pzfaust ap - x3 empty can, x1 RDX_500
  • nailbomb - x1 nailbox, x1 RDX_250
Here's a video to show you how it can be done as described in the guide. All credit goes to gerard butler.
Farmables, Grindables and Other Achievements
Bomberman I - III
Has killed 100 / 500 / 1000 opponents with bombs.
The best way to get this set of achievements is playing arena1, level6. weaponset6 will be the optimal weapon loadout, as you will have just enough explosives to kill all the monsters in the level. If you're still having trouble with them after you run out of explosives, try weaponset5 - a balanced kit of heavy weaponry and explosive destruction. Kill some foes with the dynamite, shoot the rest with the ranged weaponry.

Grind until satisfied.

Release Them from Pain I - III
Kill 500 / 1000 / 3000 zombies.
These achievements are about killing zombies and zombies only. In level1 and level2 there are only a few, but they appear in larger quantities starting from level3 and on. If you want to earn the achievements by playing the story mode, start there. If you want to farm zombies in an arena, level7 of arena2 is perfect for that. It spawns an unlimited amount of zombies, as its sole purpose is to test your ability to survive for a preset amount of time. Surviving ninety seconds kills about 90-100 zombies (with an aggressive playstyle and a good weapon set; I recommend weaponset2).

Grind until satisfied.

The Firm Index Finger
Fire 100 or more shots with a 75% or better accuracy during a single level.
The earliest level you can obtain the achievement on is level3. In the first two you won't fire enough bullets to bypass the threshold. One thing that increases your accuracy is shooting a big horde with a cangun and killing a number of foes with one strike. The best level to try this on is level5, after you've defeated both Walkers. The room is outlined with pipes, from which zombies pour out en masse. Merge 3-4 small hordes into one by running in circles around the room and shoot it with a cangun or two, then go through the level like you normally would.

The easiest level to farm the kills on is level2 of arena1. Pick weaponset3, spawn, and start running around the map until you have a large horde of monsters following you, before equipping your mg-3200 and shooting them all to bits and pieces. If you're not in any immediate danger, you can use the 9mmpstl as well, since it only shoots once after each pull of the trigger and is quite easy to aim. Abstain from using the autopstl as its cone of fire is wider and thus harder to manage.

Death Pudding Matador
Has lured 50 zombies to Teleglitch anomaly.
Stand next to glitch areas (the black, distorted void that instakills you if you touch it) and lure 50 zombies into them without getting yourself killed in the process. The earliest and most effective level you can achieve this on is level3, where zombies spawn in relatively high numbers and glitch areas are fairly common.

Steroid Monster
Has had 150 hitpoints.
You can reach 150 HP by eating canned meat. If you're at full health (100 HP), use 5 canned meat items to earn this achievement. You can find them all on level1, or you can choose any level from arena1 and pick weaponset2, which provides you with 10 canned meat cans by default. You can only increase your health pool with this item; medkits and stimulants will only heal you back up to a 100 HP, and won't add any health beyond that if you're already at full capacity.

Tinker
Has built 100 items.
Progress towards earning this achievement happens automatically as you always craft items in order to survive. The further you get, the more important it will become and the more you'll do it. Craft any item from the combination menu ('C' by default) whenever you get the chance to do so across all playthroughs and you should achieve this one in no time.

The Untouchable
Completed a level without getting hurt.
level1 is perfect for this achievement. There are only 26 mutants and 1 zombie; waste ammo if you have to, just don't let any monsters hit you and lower your health. Getting hit and healing yourself back up to full health will NOT grant you this achievement. Enter the endlevel portal without getting hurt once to earn the achievement.

Damage Enthusiast
Kill 50 monsters in 5 seconds.
After you beat the War Walkers on level5, you usually have the option to summon 3-4 large zombie hordes from the pipes in the boss room. If you have a detector, you might notice the circles marking their locations; if you don't, walk around the sides and try to trigger them. Run in circles until the hordes are all merged into one, and then kill them all with a cangun or with some type of explosive (if you deem your aim and timing good enough). Killing them all has to be all done in under 5 seconds. arena2 levels are good for this achievement as well; choose weaponset4 and run around the level until the mobs form a large horde. Shoot the horde with a cangun and finish them off with RDX explosives.

Heavy Weapons Engineer
Has made a minigun.
In level5 there's a terminal that tells you how to craft a minigun. You need to attach 4 mg-3200's to one motor that you can get as a drop from War Walkers on level3, 5 or 7 and on. Starting a new run on level5 also grants you a motor, but you'll have to collect the mg-3200 separately. level6 has a secret area which contains 4 mg-3200's, supposedly so you can craft the minigun without the assault rifles taking up precious inventory space half the run.

I Know Railgun Physics
Constructed a railgun.
The materials needed to construct a railgun are: x1 magnet, x1 mchip, x1 largetube, x1 hardware. You will earn this achievement as soon as you collect the four and combine them into a railgun via the crafting menu ('C' by default). The magnet only drops once, as loot from the fallen Heavy Destroyer Snake on level6. It's also a component in a valuable upgrade which deflects oncoming bullets, so you'll have to choose between earning the achievement and getting a crucial item that may very well assist you in surviving the remainder of your current run.

Choose wisely.

The Attention Master
Found 75% of secrets generated in one run.
There are 2 secret areas per level. They can usually be seen through a small crack in the fake walls that cover them. Destroying each wall tile takes no more than three 9mmpstl shots, so don't bother wasting your explosives. Once you enter the area behind the walls, a "HIDDEN SECRET FOUND" text will be displayed at the top left corner of the screen, and will count towards earning the achievement. You are supposedly required to get to a point where hitting the exact 75% percentage is possible - which is 3/4 secrets, thus with 2 secrets per level the achievement is only obtainable from level2 and on.

Speedfreak
Has been under the influence of ingame legal stimulants more than 50% during a game run.
This achievement requires the use of the stimulant item. Start a new run from level3, craft a stimulant (by combining a medkit25 and RDX_250), use it, then die as fast as possible. All done.

Can vouch for @rabbyzero's double minigun strategy! Thanks guys.

On the screen with the text epliogue, for some reason the only key that lets you continue is Enter. None of the other text screens after levels are like that.

I can't seem to get Honourable Survivor. End credits screen comes up and I can't exit and Achievement doesn't trigger. Oh well

The Attention Master doesn't seem to trigger for just getting 3 out of 4 secrets in levels 1 and 2. So the minimum must be higher than 3 secrets found.

Do you think secrets are always worth the explosives used? I stopped getting them since I thought the chapter 1 and 2 secrets were lackluster and seemed to always cost at least an RDX_500 or pfaust (RDX_250 frequently fails to destroy a whole block for me)

Hey @Adelion, the information you provided regarding the shortcut unlocks is indeed correct. I have changed the wording in the description - shortcuts are unlocked by simply "reaching" two levels in advance, the levels are not required to be "beaten". I am not able to confirm the arena unlocks so I will not be changing that one just yet.

As for the Hardcore Survivor achievement, I cannot say exactly. I have written the guide for the achievement by merely reading the achievement's description and inferring.
Adelion 5 May, 2019 @ 4:19am
The information concerning the Arena unlocks and the starting shortcuts is wrong or atleast dated. You can check my achievements time stamps. I had unlocked Arena 3 for reaching Level 7 (probably) and Arena 4 for reaching Level 9 or 10.
For the shortcuts you also just have to reach the level. 4 years ago I had reached level 7 and this year I could start in level 5.

Other than that: As you didn't explicitly state it, does the Hardcore Survivor need a complete playthrough or is starting in Level 9 sufficient for this one?

For the straight to the core achievement, I've tried using the strategy seen in the video multiple times. The previous time I dropped 7 nailbombs, 4 outer, and 3 inner, and that still didn't kill it. I think at some point there must've been an update, because that strategy doesn't work anymore. I'm going to try @rabbyzero's strategy from now on and go for the minigun focus with some healthkits in between.
KliPeH  [author] 6 Apr, 2017 @ 3:23pm
@lol The two hidden achievements are Arena 3 and Arena 4. Beat both arena sets to earn them.

Spend more than 2 years to get the last one - Straight to the core.
150 health 100 amor
2 minigun
speedleg + magshield

dodge the 1st rocket and go straight to the boss. eat 2 medickit
when it start to spin. start firing minigun. and then get into it. start firing 2nd minigun.
done.

i have to say straight to core is much easier than my previous hit and run strategy.
minigun is the key. it destroys boss faster than laser.
