Breakthrough in-joke
We all know that there are three different breakthroughs in game, 天道, 地道 and 人道. But do you know that these three words have double meanings in real life?

Since there is no official translation right now and I haven’t played the mod version, I could only deduce from the wiki[tale-of-immortal.fandom.com] that天道 = heavenly breakthrough, 地道 = terrainly breakthrough, 人道 = mundanely breakthrough. These three ways successively decrease the difficulty as well as the increment of player’s stats.

Out in real life, Chinese always link “天道” with “天道酬勤[God rewards diligence]”, just like in game, the most dedicated players get the highest stats. We say “地道” as one way to compliment the authenticity of certain thing, which shows the inclination of the game designer. The game doesn’t want us to be a no-life gamer and to be stressed by self-imposed obligation of seeking the perfect breakthrough. “人道” relates to humanism. It shows that the developer is concerned with human rights of all players, by choosing the easiest way, we may still enjoy the gameplay in the meantime avoiding carpal tunnel syndrome.

Haven't advanced that much through the game yet, is there a difference in quality in these breakthroughs or are they all the same in terms of XP and progression ?

Well that's neat but it could've been a forum post instead of a 'guide' y'know. No offense but getting tired of people abusing steam guides to post whatever. :p
