Laika Monument

Beskrivelse
What’s this?:
A monument to Space Dog, Laika! In the 1950s, Laika, a Moscow Street dog, became the first creature to complete and orbit of the Earth from space, and although her tale is one of tragedy (she was never coming back), her legend lives on. In 2008, a monument to the brave dog was finally installed in Moscow, of which this monument is based upon.

Yes, it's pretty big file size isn't it? Texture is pretty huge to be fair, but hopefully you can see the love that has gone into making it.

Item in game is a Landmark. You can find it in game via FindIt! mod by searching for "Laika Monument”

A HUGE thank you to ViktorKom on Sketchfab, whose 3D Dog model I was able to use as the basis for this whole item! You can get the dog model yourself here: https://sketchfab.com/3d-models/dog-2f68be25f7bd4b869ac348d1b8b58d86

Like what I've done?
If you are a fan of this building, it would really mean a lot if you liked it on the workshop! If you have any other pieces of Socialist Modernism/Brutalist Architecture you'd want to see created, just comment below, I am always on the look out for more inspiration!

Any chance of you porting it to Workers and Resources? Always looking for some new monuments in that game.

Or, if Marvel comics is to be believed, she is still alive and immortal. Living on a space station and helping the Guardians of the Galaxy with psychic powers.

@HurricaneRocker The R-7 ICBM rocket that sent Laika into orbit took about 3-4 minutes to leave Earth's atmosphere. Laika survived for five hours from the time of launch. Her vitals were being checked in weightless conditions for at least 3 hours. It is known that she died on the fourth orbit due to overheating, with each orbit taking around 90 minutes. The Soviets had already launched 12 dogs on sub-orbital ballistic flights. She was the first in space.

didn't laika die before even reaching space
(which in my opinion disqualifies her from being called the first animal in space)

Could make for some pretty terrible surprises for the person that lives behind that window, when the hand's shadow shines in during a full-moon night :D
